In recent years, my experience has been that groups with CPHP in .177 and .22 are at best twice that of the best JSB/AA or H&N pellets, and sometimes more like 3x or 4x. Back in 2013 - 2014 when I was new to airguns, it wasn’t uncommon to get tins that hovered around MoA at 25 yards and occasionally out to 45 yards. Unfortunately I haven’t experienced that at all in recent years, despite having a greater variety of rifles to experiment with. I still buy them on a regular basis for plinking reactive targets in the back yard but I can’t bring myself to use them on living things when there are better pellets for the task.
Based on head measurements and the presence of mold defects like parting lines and flashing, it just looks like Crosman is interested in hitting a price point. I think it’s a shame because I would love to have an American-made option for precision pellets.
