Crosman Premier Hollow Points 14.3

I went to Walmart yesterday to pickup new glasses. Just for grins, I picked up a tin of Crosman .22 pellets. Did some testing and the Wildcat likes them. I didn't even bother to re-zero, just put them in the magazine and started shooting and the POI was pretty much spot on.Shooting at 960 FPS which is about 29+FPE. The Renegade shot them at 980 FPS, only a small POI shift and good grouping. Brocock Bantam shot at 920 FPS, significant POI shift, grouping not as good as the others.

At $5.99 for 500 I think I'll buy some more.

There is a lot to be said for locally available supplies. For high quantity, easy fun these pellets work very well for me. I do use heavier pellets for pest work, but simple plink and trigger practice, I lile to shoot 'em cheap.

The domed pellets are harder to find, but my local Tractor Supply Store had them. Slightly more than the CPHP from Walmart. You can mail.order from both sources if you don't have a store close to you.

Glad you mentioned Tractor Supply, I have one even closer to me than the Walmart's. I will definitely check them.

That´s a nice group, ! at what distance you made your shoots?

They always shot well enough for me but tended to foul my LW barrels faster than JSB's. The smooth twist barrels like" dirty", I'm considering Wildcat .22, ( or something with a .22 smooth twist barrel), I would love to see how CPHP's would do in a long shot string, a tin or two in the smooth twist barrel and see if accuracy held up, considering price and availability I would be all over 'em. I always keep a few tins of CPHP's on hand just in case....

I use the .177 cphp and get good results in my phantom, and wildfire. They are ok in the hatsan also but tend to open up a bit more. The hatsan does like the destroyers for some reason as those dont shoot for garbage in anything else I own. I also have pretty good luck with the crosman wadcutters in the milk carton. Love shooting those cheaper pellets.

.I am in Illinois, W/M carries the CPHP 22 cal , but not the Domes, I have begged them to get them, ,also tried to order them from W/M they will not ship to Illinois, I called customer service, & didn't get anywhere Except getting a headache dealing with them, told them I was removing them from my email & did, but I purchased 4000 cphp's before that episode, all 5 of my P RODs shoot them well from the stock ones to the hi powered ones ( I have one that shoot 880 fps... also have a Zbroia Kozac that shoots them well , also had a W/Cat that did ok with them , roger

I have a Walther LGU that loves the 14.3 CHP but not so much for the Ultra Magnums. Every gun is different.

My Walmart stocks the CHP's but instead of walking in, I order online and use EBATES to get an extra 7% rebate then just pick them up in the store. when I do not order enough for free shipping. 7% rebate now but I swear I thought it was 10% on sporting goods a couple weeks ago.

After reading this thread I bought some Crossman Premier Domed 14.3 . Went to range this morning and put them up against the JSB 15.89's. Conditions weren't the best to shoot groups with a strong gusty left to right breeze, but I shot anyway at 20, 30, 40, and 50 yds.. Guess what ? The Crossmans shot great, and there was no discernable difference in accuracy at any distance out of my Maximus. Only difference was I didn't have to fix every skirt on the Crossmans like I had to with the JSB'S. At 1/3 the price , I got home and ordered two more 500 ct tins.

+1 for the Crosman. I've run many tins through the Prod. Great accuracy...on par with JSB 15.89 that I also shoot but half the price . Yep, convenient to grab a tin from Wally world when needed. Have never seen the plain domes.

Tractor Supply was recommended to me for the Crosman domed .22. I checked and yes they have them for $8.99.
