Crosman: regarding the .22 Marauder replacement

I really don't want to bash Crosman rather I want to support you. If you have read many of my posts I have been a strong supporter of you. I have alot of friends who want to get into this hobby and I would like to recommend your rifle. I realize that you need to make a profit and GAMO (and others) is breathing down your back. However, your rifles need to leave the factory with a good barrel and at least a descent chrony spread over 30 shots for the .22 caliber. I don't expect it to shoot like a $1500.00 rilfe but don't patrinize me by saying "try some different pellets" and your rifles are "specially tuned at the factory" when the rifle doesn't have a balanced shot string. Only after a balance shot string can I now "try some different pellets". People are becoming very savy consumers and they will, and do, look at reviews. I will use this rifle as a learning tool but I could not recommend it to my friends the way it comes out of the factory. If it wasn't for all the help, I recieved from this forum I would have asked for my money back. IMO you have a great reputation and very good products. We all truly want you to be successful! However, your reputation will only get you so far without quality control. I don't think it will cost you that much more to achieve this. Someone posted a Marauder in wood stock and it looked great! Keep the internal parts the same quality and you will have no problem keeping your competitors at bay!
I hope this is recieved as constructive Criticism.
Sincerely,

Very well put NMshooter, I cut my teeth on a Marauder.22. It was a rotten trick, and my first PCP experience. It leaked, barrel was loose, shroud was loose, upon initial fill I took a break at 2200. When I returned 15-20 minutes it was at 1700. The accuracy was horrible. In all honesty I don't think Crosman was totally at fault. I think the generous return policy of some vendors enabled some buyers to swap out parts and return the gun. I bought a .25 at the same time, and accuracy was very good, and it would only leak out about 100 psi per day. I eventually replaced the gauge, problem solved. I purchased a refurb Disco, using the factory gauges and pump, I thought the gun was only capable of 10-11 shots. both the pump gauge, and the gauge on the gun varied greatly in different directions. That gun was, is a shooter. The .22 Marauder sat, I liked the weight, and balance of the Disco, and bunny hunting it was a winner. I bought a used Cricket, I thanked and told the seller I felt like Quigly, shot count, regulated, smooth cycling, quiet, and lights out accuracy. I've modded 5 different Marauders, trigger jobs, barrel replacement, barrel band, shroud removal, carbon fiber tubing, additional tuning, and valves. I've had some good results. Take a look at people waiting in line for a top shelf gun, the likes of FX, American Airarms, Edguns, I think Crosman is missing a large piece of the market. I for one would entertain a regulated, quality gun from Crosman.
