Crosman SSP-250

the claim to fame on the SSP250 was it had a 3 barrel option that were fast to change and just with a loader insert change
they have a lighter trigger spring than a 2240
once you load the pellet you pull back the hammer like on a 160-180-400 rifle
and the pistol as in a picture that is not the barrel but the barrel cover
so, if you got one and all the barrels and inserts you have a piece of history

i have several
i could see if a 2240 breech could fit i have all that here

and on the Diana model 5 it has a factory stated FPS of 440 and that would be about it

Never tested it with a chronograph but I have a Diana model 5 magnum. Blue book claims it a 700 fps with light pellets. I know distance wise it will strike the target a lot louder than my 2240. Sadly this SSP-250 only has 1 barrel, maybe the 2240 barrels will work.

the breech would work but the breech screw hole is larger than the 2240 screw hole
the trigger assembly would screw on
the tube on the SSP is longer and uses a different cap and a different thread on the cap
the 2240 barrel and the SSP250 barrels are not interchangeable
now would i mix and match parts from the SSP250 and the 2240, maybe but maybe not
you can see in this picture the breech side of the tube line up but the 250 tube doesn't have the slot cut because it has the pull back hammer
the valve in the 250 looks to be much bigger
and some Diana 5G mag or P5 info

SSP 250 is a better rig in some ways. More power potential without damaging parts would be one. The reason DAQ stopped making his .25 (other) conversions was the 250 was replaced with the 2240. As of a few years ago Crosman had most parts.
"SteveV" put this one together for us once upon a time. Nice rigs.

Thank you! That's exactly what I needed to know.

Mine ran at about 500-fps with 7.9g pellets before the loading gate incident.

Cheers,

J~
