Crosman the drifter

Same gun different barrel. Pretty much all the 1322s, 1377s, drifter kit.
Ok, but is the build quality any good? I have 2 1377's from 1982 and 1991. Does the craftsmanship compare favorably? No local stores have The Drifter to check one out. Anyone know how much extra velocity comes with the extr 4 inches of barrel. I have seen reviews on the Amazon Crosman store saying that the gun Basically had pieces falling off out of the box. Front sight falling off. Things like that. I want one but have had no experience with one or known anyone who has one.

Just my opinion here, but I really think all of the Crosman 13xx, 22xx derivatives have become very long in the tooth. Their quality has never been particularly good, but the reason people bought them was because they were simple, modular, lightweight and have a mountain of aftermarket parts available. They're basically the same guns they were 30 years ago and Crosman should have improved and revised them several times by now.

You can make them into quite nice little guns, but it requires some money and some effort

Buy one from Amazon or Pyramid Air. If you don't like it return it. It's $100 kit, that's got a gun and accessories. Really, what do you expect.

Charles Mellon makes valves, flat top pistons, pump arm goodies, all sorts of stuff. All very reasonably priced, valve and flat top piston is 30 bucks for example. Build your own back packer. I can make you up the part for a stock quick disconnect. You can get a longer .22 barrel from crosman or ebay. Charles may still do .22 barrels.

I have a pistol that I bought from another member and a carbine I did. Lots of Mellon parts in both, they shoot a lot harder than a stock gun. Alchemy air works on ebay sells a lot of Crosman parts. I bought a 177 Barrel from him, great quality inside and out.

Mr. Mellon is still in business? I haven't bought from him since during the lockdown days.

Also, nothing on ebay is ways of longer barrels, but if you don't mind ordering from Canada, CSS has some in stock. 14.6, 18, and 24 inchers.

Yep Charles is still around. Still making great stuff. You got to order from him Direct.

Alchemy air works on eBay. I bought a 177 15" Barrel from them. It was supposed to be a Crosman Barrel but I really don't know. The Finish was beautiful, blueing was great, no flat on the barrel. I also bought a Crosman shoulder stock from them at the same time it was only 17 bucks. This was about 4 months ago.

I like Canada Shooting Supply.

Oh man all that extra stuff isn't necessary.extratoy these guys like to see how much power , and money they can spend Lol Anyway I have a stock Drifter I purchased Directly from Crossman. I was just at Wally world , and bought some Gamo Rockets for my Drifter. It's a great little gun , and works perfect as is. I figure if I'm pumping something up ten times I'm going to use some kick grass pellets to complement all that work Lol. I'm telling you it's a lot skinnier , and smaller than I thought it would be. It shoots great with open sights , so I left it that way. One thing I learned by trial, and error is removing the shoulder stock is easy just push in the pin , and pull down not back. I love how it shoulders with the stock , but I take it off , and keep it in the fold up pouch it came with. Now I'm not saying anything bad about these power builders it can be fun to spend money on it , and make it more powerful ect ect it's just not necessary. I never had trouble with the pump arm , or anything else. On it. I've only shot the Crossman red fire , but will try the rockets tomorrow.
