I finally got around to finishing up the barrel , ran a few strings over the chrony to see what I have . The barrel I got is from Milano arms and at first I was apprehensive about taking a chance on it. Once received I was fairly pleased with what I got. It was purchased from CanadaShootingSupply for a decent price . Now after the machining I ended up with a total length of 460mm as I wasn’t happy with the 530 length. I polished the bore in two steps using JB bore paste in fine and ultra fine to a mirror finish , pressed on a brass spacer for the barrel retention then fished up the leade and crown. The barrel specs out near identical to a LW at .254/252 with a 1:18 twist. Over the chrony with the same jets and same reg pressure the JSB kings are shooting at 910 FPS an increase of 70 FPS over the 350mm barrel. The 41 grain BBT sized to .252 are shooting at 750 FPS for just a hair over 50FPE . Remember this is at 130 bar, what a hammer. I plan on shooting at 40 to 50 yards as soon as the rain lets up and I’m hoping it’s as accurate as the AP barrel. With the plan to have a slug barrel and a pellet barrel with as little POI change as possible inside 50 yards on the same settings. If the accuracy with the cast bullets isn’t great I’m going to cut the choke off and refinish. Pretty certain that’s going to happen, I’ve never had luck with chokes and solid bullets.
