Cross platform Leshiy 2

How about a better Pic please?? Maybe pull the barrel out of the gun and get some good pics of the "Business End" of the barrel..

Tom

What's to see? Looks like an FX assembly with the transfer port taken off...................

Still have to touch up the bluing a bit on this one. (This is the .25 I had to sand down some)

Yeah the perfect thing would be a part that that is m12x1 internal threads, screws onto the threads of the fx part. And is smooth outer like you said 13.95mm diameter then at the end has a 5mmx16mm shoulder on it (to do what the circlip type thing does on the edgun barrel) then the hole for the pellet to go through make it just bigger than caliber size so it supports the back of the liner.

I'll draw it out with my crude skills tomorrow it'll make sense when you see it.

Could do flats on the 16x5mm area.

I just couldn’t help myself . Got a 530mm Kral barrel on the way. I’ll try to keep it as long as possible and add a fake shroud on it for esthetics. The barrel was 89$ CAD and readily available. This should give a decent shot increase in velocity over the 350mm. Hopefully I don’t have to change out the jets every time and can get a good balance with what I’m using now.

Here’s another option for those who have access to a lathe or machine shop. I think we all know that the CZ barrels are some of the best available . If they were available in .25 that’s the route I would have taken ..https://www.pyramydair.com/product/air-arms-cz-barrel-fits-aa-cz-s200-rifle-22?a=7601

Ok well because the way the leshiy 2 works without a transfer port or probe it needs to use that shoulder to brace the barrel in addition to the 4 screws. The screws will hold it but I don't want to crank down on them so the barrel won't slide.

So need to mimic that circlip type thing the Edgun barrels use to sit against that shoulder in the block.

I chopped up a spare fx brass TP and JB welded some pieces of brass on the sides to sit against the shoulder. Crude yes! Functional yes! haha don't judge me.

But what really needs to be made is this part I badly drew up on the PC. Someone who is good at fusion 360 can whip this up pretty fast all the dimensions are there, and I think out of ABS or a good strength plastic would do the trick. Remember there's 4 screws in addition to this shoulder.

Part has flats to get an adjustable wrench onto and to slide past the roller bearing if coming in from the breech end.

One thing that I think should be mentioned , the factory barrel has a shallow leade cut. Meaning that the entrance to the barrel is much more of a gradual ramp into the rifling. The way this gun is shooting from the magazine makes this a necessity. I have a K550 Evanix that shoots from the magazine also and the leade is gradual as well. I’ll be using a throat reamer that I got from Pacific tools for this job. Luckily the barrel dimensions are near identical to the LW I had bought the tool for in the first place.

you never know , the leade in the FX liner might be enough to get it to shoot straight. Please post your findings after some range time .

Have you seen the video yet?? Geoff (Sub12 Airgunner) came through in stellar fashion and put the cherry on top of this project!! So glad I reached out to him.. I haven't been this excited about anything in PCP ever! Thanks so much to Geoff.. Everything you do is Top Notch.. can't say enough...'cept maybe I WANT ONE PLEASE!! PM me for direct contact..

I have a custom .30cal 600mm barrel with a STX heavy liner and it performs really well. I would love to get one in .25 500mm.

Yeah YOU'RE the guy. I knew I saw someone said they did this and it was you! Thanks for mentioning it on the forum I wouldn't have even tried.

So no negatives from "shooting into" a liner? Haven't had a chance to shoot it at targets yet, comparable accuracy to shooting from the FX gun?

Hey Fellas.. I need to clear something up before I receive any more PM's asking for parts or contact info.. I DO NOT personally know Geoff aka Sub12 Airgunner nor do I have any direct contact information for him. I am as much a Fan Boy of his work as the rest of you. I got lucky and he responded to a comment I wrote on one of his YouTube videos. I asked him to take a look at this project and see if he was interested in assisting. I GOT LUCKY.. that's all. I also asked Ernest Rowe to take a look but Geoff beat him to the finish line. So PLEASE, No PM's asking for his contact info or hook ups on this part.. I honestly don't have it myself. Thanks

Tom

I’ve had the barrel since the beginning of July, it was made by a very talented guy I know on Facebook who I previously purchased a polygonal .25 .450mm.I haven’t done a lot of shooting with the barrel and It has only been with slugs due to the pellet shortage.(NSA, Varmint Knockers and FX Hybrid)out to about 75 yards but the performance is really good.I don’t believe there’s any issues shooting through the FX liners. We just need to remember the L2 does not have a competition trigger so you really have to have good trigger control to get good groups.

Here’s a 8 shot group l shot two days ago In my backyard at fairly fast pace. Using my neighbor cutting the grass two mask the sound of the loud .30cal. These are FX Hybrid at 1011fps 57 yard. The one hole not touching is me not using good trigger control.
