Cross platform Leshiy 2

Carlo (Monte on AGN) was nice enough to draw an .stl file from my drawing and offer it up here, if you like it throw him an accuracy point. Hell of a guy, this has the shoulder on it and center hole is 8mm. (so far blue loctite is keeping the liner in place) It wouldn't hurt to support the liner but I wanted one that works for .22-.30. Might need a bit of sanding here or there I haven't gotten my hands on the printed one yet.

Robert wrote to me that the barrel and Maud arrived successfully and quickly. but did not share the results of the shots. I use a .25 400mm long barrel with my own design slugs

this shape of the slug allows it to be kept in the journal. the implementation of the liner fixation was done as follows, the liner was shortened to 410 mm. bushings were glued on the muzzle and the breech, and the carbon thread was wound, after which the grinding and slot of the groove for the positioning ring was performed

Nice! Reminds me of a proof research barrel.

Hello everyone, I’m a new member for the forum. It’s very good to see Robert Ford and know that he has exelent accuracy. I’ve also been using fx liners for Leshiy 2 for long time

It’s good to see you here my friend. Both of the barrels you made for me perform excellent the .30 STX and the .25 Polygonal 👍. You are very talented and skilled.

Robert

Nice set of tooling you have there.

Well, after reading and re reading this thread. I finally let curiosity get the better of me. I have a FX Elite .25 carbine barrel that I tried. I was going from 967fps to 1035fps on Cuda 31s with no other changes. It works but is definitely not a finished product. The breech is pretty much just floating out there. I would like to get a Teflon bushing to fill in the space and smooth things out.

Sorry I'm a new member and can't reply to those in private messages. it is very important to choose the optimal settings and the bullet, even with an ideal barrel you can get poor accuracy

thanks, but this is not specifically my job. I was only an ideological inspirer, all the work was done by another person, I do not have a machine park and it is easier for me to pay and explain how this should be done. There are a lot of shooting results on the link below, you can read it on the Ru forum edgun starting from the 6th page. there are many ideas for fx, first need to get hold of it

One thing that I think should be mentioned , the factory barrel has a shallow leade cut. Meaning that the entrance to the barrel is much more of a gradual ramp into the rifling. The way this gun is shooting from the magazine makes this a necessity. I have a K550 Evanix that shoots from the magazine also and the leade is gradual as well. I’ll be using a throat reamer that I got from Pacific tools for this job. Luckily the barrel dimensions are near identical to the LW I had bought the tool for in the first place.

you never know , the leade in the FX liner might be enough to get it to shoot straight. Please post your findings after some range time .

Yeah you called it, not consistent. Maybe it's clipping the edge of the liner but it isn't accurate :( I put in the puck with the smaller maybe 3mm hole to get the max shots so it's only shooting around 700fps with 18gr but even so it should be grouping.

Oh well was worth a try.

*Single loading gives full accuracy, so it's either clipping or doesn't like the rifling engagement.

Well the second barrel ended up being in the wrong caliber . I sent it back and finally got the right caliber and length. This barrel was not a Kral but I took a chance on a Milano/Kervan as it was the only thing in stock. To my surprise, the barrel was pretty good. I pushed a pellet through the bore and not one tight spot, I did give it a thorough cleaning but it wasn’t overly dirty. The OD was slightly bigger so I turned it down so that it was the same 13.89mm where it goes into the action and left the remainder blued. The leade was recut with a throat reamer from pacific tool and opens up at 2.5* removing the grooves just until the pellet sits flush in the barrel by dropping it in. I reworked the crown , made a 30mm shroud from carbon fiber tube and black delrin. Once in the gun first was to shoot over the chrony with a finished length of 460mm and gained close to 90fps with the JSB kings. I still need to test for accuracy at range but at ten yards prints a single hole for an entire magazine so that is promising. I’ll post some pics of the finished once I get a chance. Sure hope it performs as good as it like looks.

Nice! That's a promising result so far.

Geoff at sub12 airgunners made a v2 adapter piece with a smaller hole and had much better results. I have a few of these on the way to try. Really want it to work with my FX barrels as I have .22, .25 and .30 and know they shoot great.
