Crossbow scope on a springer!

I have had a cool opportunity to test a low-power (3x) crossbow scope on my .22 caliber D48 and do a write up about it. It ended up being a much longer article than I was expecting so I won't double post here, but please do check it out!

The scope is the Sightmark Core SX 3x32 and fit the D48 quite well 👍 It really was fun to compare shooting with a low powered scope to shooting with open sights.

Indeed. From what I understand (not having owned one...) is that Xbows have similar reverse recoil too... I have had a Hatsan 135, a RWS 350, and a couple of 48s. And I have probably send 4+ scopes back that are commonly known as being "springer rated" from the manufacturer. So far this little guy has held up pretty well. I will say that the scope illumination was acting wacky (turning on when it should be off). I should pop a new battery in and then check the contacts to see if anything is out-of-whack. Other than that it's been a solid unit!

I put a crossbow scope on my Disco 9mm/Arrowgun and it werqs well for the loopy trajectory of the 431fps arrows and the under 700fps 9mm slugs. Nice write up you did by the way. There were lots of words there so I know it must have taken some time. ;^) I have a D52 took my Hawke Airmax off of it cuz my new Bullseye scope mount ran out of windage before I got on target and I did not want to destroy it.

Hmm, I'm wondering about your D52 and the Bullseye mount. I have one too and used it on my 48 with good results. (This was just before testing the crossbow scope.) I do recall that it had a very particular method for tightening the screws. Do you recall following those steps?

Just for giggles, here is a slowmo (phone) video of the mount on my 48:

(And yes, I do have long first stage on my trigger!)

I found info on the sequence that someone did on YouTube. I was a mechanic for many years so I had already done something similar but I did it over and installed the mount in a different position on the rail not using the stop pin and I am now able to get it to werq albeit favoring one side on the windage heavily. Thanks for talking me into trying this again I really love my springers when I run out of air for my PCPs that is. ;^)
