Crossbow Scopes On PCPs. Yay or Nay?

Earlier I was watching a video in which a hunter put a crossbow scope on an Avenger. Has anyone used a crossbow scope on their PCP? If so, I'd like to hear/read about the pros and cons of your experiences. Most importantly, are you still using one? I've read of guys using them on springers, but I'm interested in the experiences of folks using them specifically on PCPs. Thanks in advance for sharing.

Dont know why they would not work....just a scope with a close parallax setting..

I have zero experience with them and today was the first I'd heard of an air gunner using one on a PCP. I did a brief AGN search and saw a single post. It would've been great to consider when I was shopping for compact scopes and LPVOs. Now I'm waiting to hear members with experience using them on PCPs to chime in.

I've not done it on a PCP, but I did put a cheapo Horton crossbow scope on a springer some years ago when I was a broke college kid. Made my longest springer kill with that setup, funny enough.

If I were to put a crossbow scope on an airgun, it would be on a sub 50 yard gun.

That reads like you had a blast! I figured crossbow scopes would translate well to springers considering the recoil on both. I'm still very curious to how they'd work on compact/short PCPs.

Fore sure! It was years and years ago, but still one of the best pesting sessions I've ever had!

I sold my TenPoint Vapor target crossbow some years ago with an upgraded scope and this way I ended up keeping the original TP scope. I was using it for a short period of time, yes it worked well with my PCP but I like higher power scopes and this x3 sitting in my drawers waiting for better days or other home. The reticle is made for speeds sub 400 fps so you would need to sight in some weird distances if you want to use markings precisely.

I've had a couple inexpensive crossbow scopes. A Sightmark 3x and a UTG 3-12x. The Sightmark's optics were pretty good but I decided I wanted an option for higher magnification. The UTG's optics were pretty bad past 6x, so not what I wanted in he end.

Re; The recticles. I thought the extra hashmarks would be good but they ended up being too far apart to be useful for me.

Eventually had to spend the bucks but got what I really wanted in the form of a Hawke Airmax 30 Compact 3-12x with a AMX IR reticle. Very satisfied.

The Sightmark Core SX 1.5-5x32 Crossbow Scope, with range-finding capability and variable magnification, is ideal for medium-sized hunting games such as white-tailed and mule deer. This scope provides arrow drop compensation for exceptional accuracy and sighting precision. Its 1.5-5x magnification is set up for the best crossbow speed of 250-450 frames per second. The scope features multi-coated optics, low-profile heads with covers, and fully weatherproof housing for exceptional all-weather reliability.
