FX Crown MK2 177cal barrel kit

My Crown was originally a 25cal and now sports a 22cal barrel. I was thinking of buying a 177cal barrel for it but don't remember reading anything good about FX and 177cal. Has anyone used the 177cal kit with decent results?
I have always heard good things with the f.X crown shooting 177. If you've ever heard not good things with 177 and FX it's shooting sub twelve foot pounds, particularly with the impact because of the plenum.

I tried a 600mm .177 cal barrel on my Crown MK2 and it worked quite well. It shot some nice groups at 100
yards with 13.4 JSB KO slugs.

Thanks for all the reply's gentlemen.

@ keith1....more info on the 380mm set up you have would be appreciated. I would buy the 380mm or the 500mm for mine. I can't use a mod and loudness is always a concern.
If memory serves me right, the longer barrel would be better suited for quietness due to having a longer shroud, and a longer runway for the air to travel. You can also set it up at a lower reg and hammer setting than a shorter barrel.

True enough. I'll likely order the 500mm version. 800 to 900fps is sufficient for my needs.

Very happy and impressed with the 500mm barrel assembly on my Dreamtac. It isn't a Crown, of course, but accuracy rivals the LW barrel on my Mrod. And it is versatile. I can run 7.3gr pellets at 650 fps, 8.4 at 810 fps and 10.3gr pellets at anywhere from 880 to 910 fps with terrific results. Not buying the "FX can't do .177" talk. In my case, it's been great.

I have been very successful in Hunter Class Field Target shooting a Crown Mk II with a 500mm .177 Superlight Barrel. I would be much more successful if I could ever learn to shoot offhand. It is certainly not the rifle that is keeping me off the podium🙄.
Cheers,
Greg

I have a Crown gen With .177 barrels in 500, 600 and in 700.
I just about bought all new liners available -
It will normally be delivered with a superior standard liner, but i recommend you should get the Superior Heavy liner for it.
It shoots both pellets and especially Zan slugs very well. Also at a 100 meters.
I dont know the new Superior Pellets liners - The changed the twist a lot compared to the previous Superior standard liner.

Thanks for the reply. What weight of pellets and slugs does the liner work well with?

.177 is fine in FX, get heavy as it shoot slugs a tiny little bit better than the standard barrel.
We Danes without a hunting license are locked to .177.
Being a ping pong ball sized target, well if the wind is not too bad and i am dialed in with slugs, and you are not longer than 130 yards away, i will advise you to not aggravate me.

They didn't have the heavy liners available to order so I put my name down to be notified when they're back in stock. I also ordered 10gr and 13gr Knock Outs as well as the 16gr H&Ns. I won't be ordering slugs or pellets from overseas again as customs made a mess of the original packing and the tins got beaten up pretty badly. The slugs seem to have come through it alright though.
