CS4-i/CS4 grease pot diaphragm replacement

I decided to replace the grease pot diaphragm in my CS4-i, because I was finding it inside of the greasepot all folded up and wrinkley. After a few tries with various hole punches and 1/32" thick buna nitrile rubber sheet...I found that 27mm is the proper diameter and I guess 1-1/16" would work too. For the hole in the middle of the diaphragm, I just used a pin and then enlarged it with a suitable tapered pointy thingy (icepick). Now the diaphragm stays in the bottom of the greasepot like its supposed to.

I made myself a couple of these for my GX K2. I was bored

nice!!! whats the outside diameter of your new piece?
Here ya go
I used some Copolymer I got off of Amazon. I've made a lot of parts with this material. Shock and swing arm bushings, moderator parts and so on. It is some pretty robust material, machines well, not gummy like nylon.

Not sure if the 4 and K2 have the same grease pots. On my K2 the outside diameter is 1.080 on the 4 it is 1.100 I would the think the insides are the same but who knows. (it's a made in China thing) If you have calipers measure the OD.
Grease pots are the same. Earlier compressors had a poor rubber diaphragm material that would expand over time.

New ones are a different material and do not expand, they are available from GX

Weird
My early model CS4 the grease pot is great. The K2 one of the pots were sucking the grease like mad., so I made these. I'll probably order a few rubber discs just to have on hand. Thanks for all the info you post on the GX compressors.
