Shot and killed 10 starlings today, but could only recover the pictured six and the lone sparrow… All shots at 30 yards, sending CPHPs, TP on low for just under 20 FPE at the muzzle… They simply crumple when hit center mass…
Thank you Randall, ironic thing is that these same birds get a pass in my yard… The pictured offenders were all caught in the act of stealing feed…Luis, fantastic shooting and pics! Your Pathfinder/Ghost/Atomics are a starlings worst nightmare!
Luis, you're welcome! Hey, have you tried light slugs thru your Ghost!? I think they would be fantastic for longer shots and windy days pesting if you can find a slug that is accurate.Thank you Randall, ironic thing is that these same birds get a pass in my yard… The pictured offenders were all caught in the act of stealing feed…Should’ve brought the Ghost out today because it was very windy, am trying to suss out the coming pesting season at this particular farm…
Will be going back for some night ratting. Too difficult to rat during the winter as it is simply too cold to sit still in the night…
Thank you for AGN, the sticker? Is from a sporting goods store, the reference is a climbing term. As in “sending a climb”. When I saw it the double entrende was irresistible …Great pics! Thanks for sharing. Love the sticker![]()
Luis , bet that was a blast ! I'm just starting to chase the rats here in PA. Spring isn't yielding much w/temps though . I didn't do much ratting this winter eitherThank you Randall, ironic thing is that these same birds get a pass in my yard… The pictured offenders were all caught in the act of stealing feed…Should’ve brought the Ghost out today because it was very windy, am trying to suss out the coming pesting season at this particular farm…

Dean, great job on those pirate starlings. The trees the starlings nest in at the dairy farm took quite a beating during last week's storm. The challenge now will be setting up to plink them now that the cover has changed. Reports to follow...Nice shooting, I killed 5 out of a hard maple tree with a hollow in trunk yesterday on side of house in woods. Woodpeckers are trying to make a nest in it or get it ready and Starlings keep pecking them and running them off. Killed the 5 in about a 2hr period. Shots were about 28 yds. Unable to retrieve them they all fell into about a 45 deep ravine with almost vertical sides.
Yes, when in packs ironically you get less opportunities. I typically kill them as they present at points of ingress or egress. Am headed back today with the wife and dog for a quick walk. Will be ranging some distances for nighttime rat shooting…Nice! I can have 50 Starlings out in front of me and maybe get two before they stop coming back.
