Curious what's it worth? Beeman R9 TK 177 Maccari Fiddleback Maple Stock

Okay this is a very unique springer and I have had it forever yet not using it. Honestly too, I am scared to use it in the field because of the stock and that to me is a downer too, though it has killed its share of pigeons when I used it a lot.

The springer is a Beeman R9 TK tuned and modified by Maccari with a high grade fiddleback maple stock.

I am considering selling it and I am just curious what it is worth. The rifle is sitting in my gun safe in Idaho and these photos are old. However, from the photos you can tell what a jewel the wood is and most people would be happy to have it in their collection because of its uniqueness.

The scope is a Bushell 3x9 I believe, American made.

I have owned, and sold a half a dozen of Jim‘s custom rifles. I still have two. One is maple, one is walnut. Your rifle looks much more like my walnut stock. I’m totally a wood guy. It would be much more valuable if it is Walnut 3-$400 more.

The more beautiful the wood, the more it’s worth.

they seem to never bring as much as we think they should. It’s a very thin market that cares about that special wood.

I’m sure I’ve refinished and finished more than 25 stocks in my life. That’s walnut sir. I would like to see better pictures, but on the butt stock it’s pretty clear.

Jim’s Rifle tend to shoot extremely well.

Here is one of my walls. Maple walnut pine cherry and Koa.

And a fiddle back maple stock below.

Hi Everyone, thanks for the input and I will be putting the gun up for sale in the next week or two. I just need to coordinate with my buddy about getting the gun out of my gun safe in Idaho.

Though I feel that I am a trusted member here on AGN I want someone to know everything they are getting. The only thing there will not be Chronograph numbers just the gun stats.

I am selling the Beeman R9 TK for my RTI Prophet Performance Compact project I am starting in August once I return and settle in USA.

@flintsack thanks for the input. Yes, the walnut might be worth more, but jewel wise it is hard to beat that fiddleback maple stock on the "wow ain't she pretty" scale, IMHO.

Are you 100% sure that it is Maple?

I have quite a few curly Maple muzzleloaders and a bunch of fancy Walnut rifles and shotguns. That looks like light colored figured Walnut to me. Curly/fiddleback Maple typically has very distinct edging on the rings and has flecks.

I wouldn't have said it was Maple if someone showed me the picture and asked. I would be scratching my head.

Could be though, as it does have some Maple traits alongside some Walnut ones too! It's a gorgeous stick of wood for sure!

ETA- I have a fancy Beretta O/U shotgun with nearly identical wood to that one, and it's Walnut.
