Other Custom 2250 pistol build complete... FINALLY!

Cobbled together after realizing I had almost enough parts (accrued over decades of messing with Crosman Co2 platforms) to assemble a pistol, when I mentioned that to a good buddy who stated he had a HiPac HPA conversion gizmo he'd donate to the project, so started this Crosman 2250 custom HPA (high-pressure AIR conversion) pistol project. Silly me🥴, I didn't foresee it dragging on a couple years. 🥲 Although it's been somewhat functional most of that time, key word 'somewhat'. 🤬

The (long discontinued) HiPac PowerMax gizmo being a simple conversion from Co2 power to air, the devil lies in the details. Correction- the devilS👹👺 lie in the details! Given their relatively small air volume, tuning a HiPac converted gun for power and shot-count can be quite a time-consuming, trial and error process to get right... as I discovered, not made any easier when using cobbled-together spare parts.

More than once when Lorena went psycho did I lock her away in the closet for months at a time, before gathering enough courage to free her for another attempt at reconciliation. Thankfully she possessed a beautiful soul, scarred though it be by her less than immaculate conception.

About the time I'd make progress in taming a personality disorder, another would rear its ugly head... and she'd be locked in the closet again! Many were the times I pondered ending her pain... correction- MY pain; but couldn't bring myself to resign her back to the scrap heap.

So it is with no small amount of pride and gratification that I introduce Lorena fully-healed, well-mannered, and living up to my hopes for her. No, a diva or superstar she isn't. But (as of last night sometime after midnight) she's earned a place in my heart.

Repeated chronographing of shot-counts per fill with 14.35, 15.89 and 18.13 grain JSBs proved not only the 15.89s best fit my parameters, chamber smoothly with nary a hitch, are accurate as expected, so also the silver-slipper match, but Lorena's psychotic behaviors are a thing of the past.

15.89 grain JSB, 140 BAR fill, 12 shot powerband- Low= 595, High= 617, ES= 22, SD= 7, Average= 609 FPS/13.1 FPE.

Upon achieving those numbers, gratifying groups at 40 and 50 yards in strong crosswinds, and realizing her crisp trigger action might have room for lightening, I installed a weaker trigger/sear spring to return consistent, crisp breaks of 28 ounces on the digital trigger-pull gauge. 😁

All afflictions seem behind us now, and I forgive her transgressions.

Nevertheless, I've hidden all the knives. 😰
