Having only been in the PCP airgun community for less than 2 years, I often considered getting some custom work done by someone that knew what they were doing. But separation anxiety was always a concern. How long would I be without my favorite gun? Would it come back in one piece? Would the money spent equal the increase in performance?
A few members here suggested Charles Frear. So I called his shop and a very pleasant woman told me he had stepped out for a bit, but he would call me back. Not long after Charles was answering all the questions I could throw at him. Then it was off to FedEx. A few days later tracking showed it arrived at Georgia Airguns. A day later Charles was on the phone with me. My gun arrived and he would start his work on Monday. A few additional items (pic rail, rear sling stud install) were requested by me and Charles assured me it would not be a problem.
Then the phone call I was waiting for, my gun was being shipped back, (before I even paid for his work) all went well and he gave me a heads up on the pellets my barrel likes most.
The gun arrived 2 days quicker than the shipping estimate! Documentation showed real world proof of what pellets I should use.
This afternoon weather was good and I headed to the range.
What a pleasant suprise! This Kozak is performing better than I could have ever imagined. Cloverleaf holes at 50 yards, a 3 shot group at 100 yards measured less than 1/2 an inch! The other pics show "average" 100 yard groups. These were not cherry picked groups but what seemed to be the new normal.
I shouldn't have waited so long. The price vs. return on my investment is beyond my highest expectations.
This is one gun that will never be in the members classified section of the forum.
