HW/Weihrauch Custom Stocks UK - HW30!!!!

Stock arrived from Custom Stocks UK on Friday. Very fast turn around and two box packaging. Luckily it flew through customs. Dusted off my HW30 and realized that I had left it cocked for at least two months.... 🤬

They did an excellent job on the stock. The top of the comb is lined up perfectly. My HW30 slid right in. Really happy with the way it turned out. I highly recommend one. The stippling is awesome and the schnapel front end cups my off hand perfectly (hard to see in the photo).

I have a new Savior rifle case showing up this week for it. Great rifle cases!

Good thing I have an extra HW30 Vortek kit stashed away for just such an emergency 😁 I took Monday off, I know what I m doing now 😄

Scope is a Hawke 2-7X32 Airmax and a BKL 260 droop mount, one of my favorite combinations.
So what was your 30 like after 2 months cocked ? I did leave a TX200 cocked for about 6 weeks and after a few shots it was fine , same FPE/FPS as original .

I lost 100 fps and my spring was about an inch shorter. I put a new Vortek kit and VAC seal in it to fix it. Right at 7 fpe with JSB RS or H&N Terminators now.

I bought an amazing HW30 stock off of SC. Cost 750 idk how he even sold it that cheap . Amazing piece of wood. Plus I sent it out to be grip checked that was another 250 or more.

I know that you're very knowledgeable on this topic. As we both know, a quality blank can cost even more than 1k and upwards of 2k for a display quality one. Seems to me that we've been down this road before and have found the same results. People want high quality for low money. That's not a realistic expectation!! You only get what you pay for.

The cocking cycle is so easy there doesn't seem to be a load on the HW30. Not like my HW50, it starts with a load and keeps getting harder.
This is why my 30s see way more use than my 50 or any other rifle for that matter. I like the size of and feel of the 50 a little more than the 30. But it's no fun to cock for hours like I can with my 30s.
I refuse to take the power down on my current 50 so I'm currently looking for a used 177 modern Hw50 to soften up for extended use. I'll probably put peep sights on it as I enjoy plinking more with them.
