Custom Wood Stock Making For Airforce Condor

I decided I wanted to make a custom stock for another one of my air rifles.

Here is my blank made up and ready for cutting and my template made out of poster board for layout on the wood and transfering features from the rifle to the wood.

Here is the stock blank rough sawn out on the bandsaw.

The end of the blank with the barrel channel cut down the length. Done on a router table with straight bit and a round nose bit.

Forearm end

From the butt end.

Inlet for the trigger group.

From the underside, looking at the inlet for the trigger.

I will post more photos as I progress through the fab process.

Inlet for the tank to sit down in the stock just a little. It is rough at this point and needs sanded and the front carved for the neck of the tank.

The front end of the forearm after routing the top of the profile.

The front ot the forearm after routing the lower profile.

The thumbhole rough bored and some layout lines for the pistol grip.

The pistol grip routed to thin up the cross section.

Layout lines to start shaping the butt.

The butt and pistol grip starting to take shape, at least on the right side.

Thanks Jim! The 3D printing tech/hardware is getting very affordable. Do you have any parts already planned to fabricate?

Salvor...it is yellow birch.

Yes I do Loren that’s why I’m reading and watching videos on designing from scratch. This is totally new to me and I’m not very computer savvy so it’s taking me a bit longer hahaha.

I did get my router placed into my table last week and found my hand planer to square off the blank before I cut the ruff stock out so I’m slowly getting something done, if I go right to it I’ll run out of things to do or I’ll get so many I’ll forget what I have going on.
