Never have heard of this .... And if your speaking of removing material at muzzle end of a choked barrel up to & just shy of where choke starts leaving just a slight tight spot ( Which would make it the max choke point ) ? Nope that won't work well at all and likely create all sorts of instability on the exiting projectile.
Any chance you ran across this when reading a pretty old discussion? Back in like 2010-2015, I heard of people cutting barrels to a tight spot in the bore when talking about the cheap Crosman/QB barrels as a sort of pseudo choke.

So you're wanting a "tighter" choke in a barrel that you already have? Do you know what the bore and groove size of the barrel are now? I can Choke a barrel. I choke about 90% of the TJ's liners that I finish. What is the OD?
