Diana D75 sight saga

Any idea if you can buy the riser shown on this photo? I have seen this on some of the 75S models, mine does not have this riser. It may only be necessary if you are using the rear riser, I don't know. Just curious in case I need one if they are around anywhere.

You should only need a front riser if you are using the rear HV riser.

As far as locating an original, no ideas here. If they are out there available for purchase, I would think that @marflow 777 would have a line on where. If he comes up with a blank, then you need to either scour the used parts listings on the auction sites or hope someone with an extensive parts box chimes in.
You could possibly utilize an after market riser for a Walther or Anschutz dovetail, but that may lead to deja vu with dovetail fitment issues.......

The 100 rear sight is a bonus though, and I am pleased to hear that it went right on. I believe that you will be perfectly content with the set up now.
Examine your TO1 sight to see if the bottom rails have been pinched in some fashion, like from being dropped. Once they switched from the standard 75 rail to the TO1 rail, I am unaware of any subsequent changes to the dimensions and believe that they used the same specifications clear through the Model 100 run, and until the model 75 was discontinued entirely.

Walther front riser

NOT my auction, and I have never dealt with the individual before.

Thanks again Chuck. I kind of figured it may not be needed if not using the riser on the rear. When the seller said he found the sight and was sending it I was elated, then when the diopter 100 showed up I couldn't believe it, looks like brand new too. I am still going to look at the T01 issue this weekend and see what's going on. As I said the T01 sight slid right on the T01 riser. I now have to sell the Centrum duo front and the Gehmann rear set-up, I have no use for them. I did locate the riser I showed at Waffencenter Gafa, the riser is 17 Euro and 47Euro to ship it.

Good to know that the riser is available, good info! I must have just glossed over that part in the past.... that will tech me to quickly scan pages!
The higher sight line is comfortable and puts a little less of a kink in the olde neck bones if such is an issue for you. The older I get, the more I appreciate the higher sight line.

Mike, the 75 uses spacer shims under the cheek piece in lieu of the 2 different fixed combs of the 300S Universal.
My 75 HV came with 5 spacers total I believe, but it may have been 7.

Thanks Chuck! I had a D75U - MANY years ago - and vaguely recall it came with a single cheekpiece + truckload of weights, spacers, and other gizmos in the box. If so inclined, you could spend hours adjusting the thing.

I have been known to use super fancy deluxe resilient spacing shims (better known as, uh...plumbing washers 😁) to tweak height on my 300SU cheekpieces.

How is that 75 working out on the target, now that you have it set up to suit?

The model 100 diopter is a nice addition on that rifle, and probably is not technically incorrect per se. Late model rifle with a sight upgrade that fits into the Diana production timeline. I do believe that the model 100 was discontinued before the model 75 was, so it is not hard to imagine someone strapping a diopter 100 on their 75 as a perceived upgrade.

Actually this 100 was the factory sight on this gun. This gun is a 91 and the D100 came out I believe in 89 or so. Shot it over the weekend. Windage is perfect, I was surprised that at 12 yards I had to almost max out the elevation on the low side, still a small amount left, but should have plenty at 20-30 yds. This gun is such a blast to shoot.

I was unaware that the late production model 75s came with a diopter 100 as oem equipment, but it makes sense.
The elevation issue can be written off as a difference in the height of the mounting base for the diopter vs front sight height. As long as you can center on the bull at 10m and your cheek is not smashed into the stock, I would call it good enough. Welcome to the world of mix matching sighting systems and differing manufacturers products.......

Glad to hear that you are finally able to enjoy the rifle, and explore it's potential. I have a 75 and a 66, and while the 66 is a great rifle, the 75 eclipses it in my book.
