Hi Everyone,
I am looking for any information on this 499 I was gifted a year or so ago. I have looked around online and have not seen one in this particular configuration with the plastic (or nylon?) butt stock and fore end. Any idea what vintage it is? I tried to capture the roll stamps and serial number as best I could. The rifle shoots incredibly well at 5 meters and the cocking action is so light and smooth. A completely different animal when compared to the standard Daisy offerings. Any info the Daisy fans might have would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Andrew in Montreal.

the 499 was made 1976-1979 and they came with plastic or wood stocks with no safety
the 499b all came with hardwood stocks
Information in the Blue Book

great shape for it's age
Thanks for the reply! I did not think it was that old. It functions like new and spits out a BB with great accuracy at short range. My buddy found a pair on FB marketplace for $20/ea. I was lucky to be given one as a birthday gift. With the easy cocking effort, I see myself enjoying this rifle into my old age.
