Daisy Daisy 499b

I had to get one of these. Laitly I have been getting interested in Daisy BB guns. And I also have a fifteen foot indoor pistol range I just started using. This is the wolds most accurate BB gun and it is made for five meter shooting.
Discount codes and all it was 160 bucks.
As soon as I cocked it I could feel the quality. I have a lot of air guns. And this gun is smooth. The trigger is smooth the firing cycle is not bad . I only shot a few BBs . But after sighting in I just started firing and watched the spot open up.
The Diopter peep sight is so cool. I really like it.

Yes indeed! The Daisy 499B is really a lot of fun. More fun than I thought it was going to be before I got it. I enjoy the slow methodical loading process and the excellent accuracy. My daughter and I sat down in the living room and used it to cut a Pepsi can in half. I forgot how many shots it took but it made a fun memory of us shooting together.

I am surprised how much fun I had with this. Having a bunch of Air Arms fancy guns. At 15 feet indoors this is a really accurate rifle. It feels good in the hand. I am thinking about all sort of ways to waste money. I’m gonna try to resist and just shoot it. I did print out the sticker. Just for fun.

I picked up a 499 myself last year and they are really well worth the money and great for an indoor garage type range. It's crazy how accurate a smoothbore like the 499 can be at short range these are made for. And the quality of the gun is actually very nice. I have since picked up a few more Daisy's that I had back in the early 1970s like a model 95, 96 and 25. Fun guns to play around with and pretty simple to replace springs shot tubes etc.

just thought i would look up .

I have a double layer of duct seal plus safety glasses.
People think I crazy but I have had BBs come streight back off a coke bottle and hit my face when I was a kid . And after a million BB s I have seen them fly in all directions. You really can shoot your eye out. Or your dog or kids eye out. These are toys from the 1950s. They can kill you today 🤣

I have a 499 that I picked up used. I can't see how Daisy charges four times the price of a Red Ryder for a 499.
Probably because crazy guys like me are willing to pay it. :ROFLMAO: They are a unique "niche" type of rifle. There is a relatively small market for a rifle like the 499B so products like that tend to cost more. I will say however that despite the high price I do feel it is worth it. I get a lot of enjoyment out of my 499.

^ That's cool! It warms this old heart to see the outreach that they're doing.

It's ironic that they spend so much time and money getting kids involved with our sport and yet get very little in the way of respect here on the forums.

Their posts on X are first rate, too. They actually support the second amendment. Who woulda thunk?

Cheers, (for Daisy!)
