Daisy, Gamo, or IZH-Baikal

I had a v10 for a while, same as the gamo you mentioned i believe. Decent gun, good for 10m practice/shooting. I had to do some work to get the trigger to match the specs provided by the manufacturer. After was a very good trigger, and as light as you could want. The grips are adjustable, but are going to be something you will want to file, sand and other wise custom fit to your hand over time.

the pistol you have selected are all sound choices
the best true target pistol is the IZH46M
the Gamo Compact has been around for a very long time the trigger can be made very good
the Daisy is a proven pistol in either the 717 or 747 or 777 and the trigger can be improved

the IZH 46M is the best pistol and the most problematic at the same time, with the Russian sanction there are no parts and when that will change is unknown i own one and it is very nice
the Daisies are fine pistol but not refined, easy to work on and as stated the trigger can be improved and their parts are disappearing fast after Gamo bought Daisy and then stopped making them rather stupid the cocking lever is poor and the rear sight is no longer available i own more then 6
the Compact or the AV model V10 are nice pistols, easy to cock sights are good power is moderate and parts are easy to find if needed
the grips are nice, i believe the full retail price is a lot high but it is what it is i own one

so, if i had X amount of dollars i would still look for the 46M and the why is, it is the best pistol and you can add the Daisy at any time there is no shortage of ones selling on the secondary market

and the Compact find one at under 200.00 used will be a good deal and add it also

they are all different to the point that they offer a different experience and they all have someone else looking to buy them so reselling them will not be a problem

There are tons of posts about the mighty 46 on the forums. Stock up on these o rings if you purchase one.

A couple of years back I got on a kick and acquired and resealed, rebuilt several of the 747 and 777 Daisy types. The 777 is a much better built gun, having a all metal rear sight, and the notch width is adjustable. It also has a milled steel cocking lever vs the cast or stamped version on the 717 and 747. I think both the 747 and 777 have Lothar Walther barrels and both are quite accurate. The 777 with the big wood target grips and heavier steel parts makes it much heavier.
I also have a couple of the IZH pistols. Honestly it is easier to cock or charge with air due to the complex linkage of the piston, Sights are excellent and the trigger is absolutely out of this world. Mine are probably down to about two or three ounces. One of mine is an AV model that had the red black laminated grips, which I did not care for, and acutally starter splitting in a couple of places so I replaced them with some nice walnut grips from Rink. The other is a pure IZH with the beech grips that were rather blocky until I modified them to fit my hand. Now they fit, and look like a set of target grips instead of a block of lumber. Basically I created some finger grooves on the left side of the stock where my hand wraps around instead of having a square edge. I took the wood down over several weeks and stages until I got it to the point where I though no more removal of wood would help any, then smoothed and refinished with some tung oil.

If you want a pure target gun go with one of the IZH guns. I know parts are and may be a problem but then they are no longer replacement parts for the Daisy guns either. About the only thing you should need for either is O rings, and those are not impossible to find. I actually got some "kits" with polyurethane O rings for the Daisy's a couple of years ago off ebay, but no longer see the variety that was available. The ones I got used some split teflon washers or rings vs a foam wiper to hold oil for the cylinder, so no worries about foam breaking down., but again, I no longer see them available.

At my age both the 777 and IZH shoot better than I can.

I have dad the Daisy’s and three 46M.
Traded 777 for one of the 46m.
I gave the 46m to my son.
Gave one more to my friend in Kansas.
Should have kept them.
No one gets this 46M:
