Daisy Model 25 - Arkansas - 1950's? - How to Value?

I was given an early model of the Daisy Model 25 to sell for an older family member. From what I can see it may be from the 1950's when they first changed over to the plastic stock but before they started with serial number stamping. It has the duck hunting scene and a metal butt plate with no grooves. Pistol grip is checkered. Says Arkansas on top of receiver but no serial or patent numbers. How do I know where to post for sale or ho

w much to ask?

You can go on Daisy‘s website and it will tell you all the minor changes they made each year on the model 25. That will give you a very close way to find out the year. I bought my 1950 model in good shape on eBay for $55. They normally sell if you’re lucky you can get them for $50 but have seen them go up to $150. It’s like with anything old, it’s worth what people are willing to pay. Mine has the wood stock and the real engraving in it.And it also has the blued finish instead of painted finish. I’ve seen the prices go up and down on those things. I would say yours is $70 max. I got mine cheap because I was patient and held out until I found the one I wanted for the lower price. Some people will ask some insane prices for them but will not get it. The thing is, they made a lot of those over the years and they are not by any means rare at all. It was probably their second best selling gun besides the red Ryder.

The values for 25s really dropped when Daisy brought back a new China made 25. I don't know if they are still available or not, but a new one was about $40, if I remember right. Your gun looks like it might have a warped stock, but it may just be the pic. If it is warped, it is probably only worth about $30 or so. Used to be a 5 groove forearm 25 with wood stock was worth $250 or more in decent shape and a 6 groove was $150 or so in good shape and working. I have bought and sold several over the years at airgun sows. A lot of the Daisy collectors have died off, so there just isn't a lot of demand anymore. Ebay would be the best place to sell it. The pre 1958 guns are more desirable and are marked Plymouth Mich. They moved the plant to Rogers in 1958. HTH.

I have one of the new Chinese ones. It is actually more accurate than my mid-60s one and my 1950 Model.I bought it while I was waiting for a good deal on a old one. It’s made just like the older ones with real bluing and engraving and Wood Stock. The only difference I can see is the plastic trigger and a safety. It is a little lower in power than the older ones too.And it was common for the plastic stocks to be a little warped. Some were warped bad some not so bad. Once in a While You would see one that wasn’t warped.
