How can I find the date of manufacture?

Serial number will help you. Google doesn't have a listing of every serial number so you have to get creative. Read this website and if it doesn't work out for you pm me the serial number and I'll look it up for you. It's better for you if you walk this out yourself and learn how to research it on your own but if you can't let me know and I'll get it for you.

Thanks. Fumbling my way through the net I learned that the Daisy Museum can trace the year built. One quick call and I had what I wanted.

Daisy Museum also informed me that the 747’s were built from 1985 to 2010. Nice long run.
