Daisy Powerline 880

These guns really amaze me, I thought my Crosman 760 Pumpmaster done pretty good at 11 yards. I just recently purchased 3 Daisy 880 powerlines, one is a 1973 Powerline still working on it, the second is a 1980 powerline, the third is a 1996-2005 powerline. The 1980 and the 1996-2005 are amazingly accurate at 11 yards, really stunned me at what I could do with open sites. Below are the results of both guns, let me know what you think. The first one is the 1996-2005 Powerline rifled barrel, the second is the 1980 Powerline smothbore.

Thanks for sharing that, Hank. The Daisy 880 series of rifles have a solid following over on the vintage airgun forum.

That level of accuracy is kind of surprising. I had a Daisy 880 WAY back in the day and liked it a lot. At the time I was too busy shooting everything around me to consider putting it on paper. (I was fifteen.) Unfortunately, a Crosman 180 took its place as I became fascinated with C02 guns.

I have a 760 with a rifled barrel. It's a conglomeration gun made up from various parts and it doesn't group nearly as well as your guns do. The other smoothbore 760 that I have shoots about as well.

Your data lines up with my own. The Daisy 880, Crosman 766 (2100) and Sheridan Bluestreak (Benjamin 392/397) are my three top recommendations for budget entry into the sport. I will always choose muti-pumpers over springers. Cuts way down on the learning curve and makes you consider each shot carefully. They are essentially 1-shot PCPs, although I suppose we should call them just CPs as there is no "pre" involved. 😄
