Just curios has anyone tried barrel dampening with rubber sleeves rather than tensioning? I have a benjamin bulldog that I have modified for power and accuracy.
I used extra barrel supports and it made a difference but I wondered if there was something else to be gained . So I cut pieces of hose ( eaton easycouple much stronger than standard heater hose) and slid them on the barrel between the spacers . The hose fit very tight it would have to be cut off to remove. The results were actually promising . the groups tightened up and it seems less power level and ammo picky. I had purchased a second bulldog later to make a carbine out of and tried it side by side with same mods with barrel supports without the rubber hoses, and the one with hoses was better. I installed hoses on the new one and same results . I have since turned it into a carbine and really like it. I also did this on my condor and it made a difference as well. Any thoughts?
