Daystate 110 compressor wich one do i have?

Good afternoon-

Vendors who use "bait and switch" tactics such as this, on unsuspecting customers, do not deserve anyone's business. The sad thing is, consumers must be especially vigilant when purchasing high dollar items and must know how to "force" vendors to honor their agreements.

When making a high dollar purchase, such as this, the only thing that matters is the quote. If the specifics of what one is purchasing are not on the quote, it will be impossible to argue for a correction, afterward. I have two decades of expereince in this area, with regard to firearms purchases (250, or more weapons purchased at a time, on a regular rotation.) 

My suggestion is, demand that the vendor put what they are telling/selling you in writing, on the quote, so you get what you ordered, and what you paid for!

Yes, sometimes we have to learn from our mistakes. I learned my lesson lol, next time I want everything written on the invoice..

Hello-

I do not beleve you did anything wrong. The fault lies solely with the vendor. (AOA, in this instance!) The fact that one must expect this sort of behavior from a vendor, and plan for it, is unfortunate.

So I just ordered one of these and asked the question about 4 stage vs 3 stage and which one they are shipping me. They said exactly this in my conversation with them... "No problem James, we have stopped selling the 4 because of issues with reliability and are only using the 3 moving forward. Thanks again for your patience!"

Hope that clears it up. I am fine with the 3 stage but am interested in what the supposed problem is with the 4.

The Daystate LC110 that I bought from @bigborejoe on AGN classifieds is a 3 stage made in 2017. He tells me he put about 5 hours run time on it, and I've put about another half hour. It just chugs along, reminds me of "The Little Train that Could". Tops off 45 minute (66 cu ft) tank from 3200 to 4500 in about ten minutes. Does not have an auto shut off, but does have a 330 bar relief valve that just slowly and quietly relieves pressure when it gets to about 320 bar on mine. I'd like it to go a little higher, and it appears there is an allen screw adjustment at the end so I'll see if that does anything. So far, so good. 

As far as 3 versus 4 stage, I don't think it really matters. However, all of the smaller dive compressors built by companies like Bauer are 3 stage compressors... 

My two cylinder Tuxng is also repaired by Nick ( @socaloldman ) with the repair parts that Tuxing sent to me, a new breaker, power switch and motor controller. He's using it now for his own personal use, and its working like a champ.

Mine is the 3 stage 2018 it has the auto shut off.. I have used it only one hour and put it back in the

You got a Daystate 110 with auto shutoff? Where did you get it? 

I have seen that you can order the parts to add both an auto shutoff and the auto purge components.. but my friend @Centercut has convinced me that I don't need them, and he is likely right. I will never leave it running by itself even if I had them.. too paranoid.

Nop i have the 110 and use it once.. when I was using it I wanted to try if I he red valve that is supposed to release the pressure after 330 bars works and it shuts off before,I did it again and the same thing happened.. I'm going to use it again this weekend and record a little video..

I don't think that you are experiencing an auto shutoff, but I will have to wait and get mine to see. Everything I have read and heard from others is that that valve opens at 300 bar or so and lets off enough pressure to not over pressurize a tank. I have seen that you can add an auto purge and auto stop that is adjustable, but looks expensive and a lot of work.

You might want to get it checked out for a problem if its just shutting off. 

There is also (I beleive) a 110 version of the larger 3HP unit that does have an auto stop on it if I recall correctly, but its a 20-30 amp system. The 15 amp 110v version does not according to the website.

Eddie1840, just so all of us are clear on what this valve does. The 330 bar pressure relief valve is made to release pressure beyond 330 bar. It is not an automatic shut off if that is what you are experiencing. Lots of high end compressors are designed to release pressure based upon the pop off valve setting. Your 110 will continue to run indefinitely until you shut it down but it shouldn't pressurize beyond 330 bar. You normally should hear a change in the sound of the compressor running after max pressure is reached from the excess air released by the pressure release valve. If your compressor is shutting down much before 330 bar something is wrong with the compressor.

Will do. Probably this weekend. There appears to be an allen screw on the end that appears to be an adjustment. Not sure if its lock tite or not, but I have a hot air gun, so no worries there. Mine starts relieving at 320 bar, so maybe yours will too and it'll already be where you want it. Unlike you, I want mine to not start relieving until 330. This way I can fill until it starts blowing off, and then once done and the tank cools off I'll still be around 4500 psi. I mostly do this for my small 1.5 or 1 liter field tanks, since it makes a difference in how many fills I can get in the field. For the normal sized tanks, I just fill to 4500 and after cooling its usually at 4350 or so...
