Daystate 110v Compressor

I usually place a lot more value on function over appearance but that is bad. Possibly a rebuilt and repainted unit wrapped before fully dry as you note. Still, if it works as needed?

It's going back where it came from. I'm not going to settle for a new car with a poopty paint job. It's not right.

I guess the old axiom about Italian cars and the paint job holds true. I've never seen anything like this before in my life and I would be equally as frustrated as you are at this point. This really concerns me at two different points:

  • What the hell Coltri/Daystate? I've got children under 5 that understand this is a bad idea.
  • What the hell AOA? Why would you not execute due diligence and inspect the replacement pump before sending this on if this was shipped from your location? This reflects equally poorly on you.

I'm sorry mtnGhost, I have no idea what's going on here. Mine is Year 2019 SN 15 and my paint issues are very minor underspray issues. I've never had problems. In your case you've clearly had nothing but problems.

Why the hell are the pulleys and inner pulley tracks sprayed black too!? My pulley on the compressor and motor is *not* sprayed. The hex head pulley nut is *not* sprayed.

What a piss poor effort all around.

Understandable. Seems like it's been a poor experience from the start. Hope you get it resolved.

I've seen paint jobs like this before. Someone at the factory attempted to apply a second coat of paint for whatever reason after the first coat partially dried. The end result is a crinkled finish. I've done this once or twice myself trying to rush a paint job around the house. The only way to salvage the finish after that is strip it all down and do over. The factory obviously did not want to do it right a second time.

AoA really needs to inspect these things before they go out the door. The manufacturer is showing signs of adding not so well trained resources to accommodate increased demand. Your experience with this product has been horrible.

So they have sent you stuff 3 times and it's still bad ? This occurring to such an expensive compressor is totally beyond my imagination

No, it's confusing but I'll clarify. I bought the first one from AGD. Sent it back for a refund (which they've issued, still waiting to clear though). Bought the second one from AoA, had issues and they sent this new replacement pump unit (just the pump) with the bad paint. The plan was for me to swap it out and send them the original one back.

I've had my LC110 for about 18 months and I'd say my use has been light. I've noticed lately that when the condensation drain is opened I'm getting some oil with the water. Also if I stop the compressor while it's under pressure there is a little smoke exiting the air INLET port. (where the little air filter is).

Is this normal to be expected? I haven't had to add oil and it seems to run and function OK. I know there is tremendous pressures involved and I'm guessing some blow by is expected but I thought I'd question other owners as to what is NORMAL I do have a dryer between the compressor and the tank so hopefully any oil going that direction is stopped by the dryer cartridge.

Thanks in advance John Heckman
