Daystate 4500 PSI 110V Fills Slower Than Expected

Hello, my friends,

I just bought a Daystate 4500 PSI 110V compressor. I have been told that this compressor should be able to fill a Omega 75 cu. ft. 4500 psi Portable Air Tank in one hour or 1.5 hours.

However, it always takes over two hours to fill my tank (I have a Omega 75 cu. ft. 4500 psi Portable Air Tank).

I am a beginner dealing with air guns and compressors.

I appreciate if you can give me some hints why my compressor works slower than expected.

I assume you mean taking your75 cf tank from 3000psi to 4500psi right? Who told you it would only take 1 to 1.5 hours for that specific tank?

I'd ask AOA or wherever you bought it. From the AOA site:

"...filling a 75 cubic foot carbon tank from empty to 4500 psi in a tick over one hour."

Isaiahzero, hawkeye is right about a tick over 1 hour. My question is about you post. You said "it ALWAYS takes over 2 hours to fill your tank" why would your tank be at 0 psi everytime you refill it??? And if you mean recharging the tank when it hits around 3000psi to bring it back up to 4500psi then something isnt right and you should definately call.

Thanks for the information, will call. Actually I sent them an email but there was no reply. I have a little bit difficulty to call because I am not from an English speaking country, when a lot of component names are mentioned, I don't know what they are, lol.

Please forgive my ignorance.

You are correct, I don't need to release all the air in the tank before filling it. I think I was trying to follow the description on the website "from empty to 4500 psi".

Let me try again.

No you're NOT ignorant, just new, not to worry. No one here ever drains their tank down to 0 psi unless there is a problem with the tank. When your tank gets down to about 3,000 psi you re-fill it with your compressor back to 4,500 psi. My Omega Super Charger usually does that to my Omega 75 cu ft tank in about 45 minutes.

My Daystate 110 fills my Omega 75 at a rate of 5 bar per min. any slower might indicate a leak.

No worries my friend. Thats why it is good to ask. Everyone here is super helpful and willing to try and solve your problems. Let us know how it turns out. (Make sure you read the instructions fully on how to operate your compressor.) Especially when your refilling your tank from 3000psi to 4500psi.

I have the Daystate 220, and i while i have it recorded on each fill i hesitate to post my initial fill of the omega 75, because i may be interpreting my notes incorrectly.


In any case i have crosman marauder rifles and i fill a Scuba 80 and 117 and the Omega 75 with the compressor.




I usually fill my 177 and 22 up to 2700 psi and the 25 cal to 3000, so the air in my tanks last quite awhile.



looking at my notes for each fill of my tanks would be like this:



Omega 3000 to 4200 4 minutes



The scuba tanks are rated up to 3442 and i fill them to 3200



2400 psi to 3200 in either scuba tank normally takes about 4 minutes.



Just me i never fill the scuba more than 3200, max is 3442



Omega 4200, max is 4500



I posted the above so that you have an example of time to fill tanks.



If you are taking your tank down much lower make sure you bleed off moister, my suggestion is every 5 minutes.

When I first received my tank, I took it to a paintball store to get filled. They where having problems getting air into the tank. The store owner came over and adjusted the restrictor that is in the valve assembly on the Omega. This may be the issue with your tank. It takes me about 30 minuter to go to 4500 from 3000 with my AV compressor, but I also have the gold filter with a pressure maintaining valve in the circuit, so it takes longer than a straight hookup.
