Daystate Air Ranger my 2 cents!

Well I have owned the Daystate Air Ranger in 25 caliber for several months now and thought I would give some feedback to the community. First thanks to all who gave me guidance and advice early on before I made a purchase, it was intimidating spending that kind of cash on a full setup guns tank and compressor but I have no regrets! The Daystate is extremely accurate in my opinion these groups were shot laying in the bed of my truck using my omega tank as a rest and all groups could easily be covered by a dime! I should also mention that these groups were printed after about 1500 shots without cleaning and in 45 shots velocity started at 834fps and peaked at 876 and went back down to about 835fps by the last couple of groups. Distance, all were shot at 25 yards. I have killed over a hundred pest birds and have a 5 inch steel gong that I can ring with boring regularity at 100 yards! Not bad for a pellet gun and I'm being sarcastic because 6 months ago I would have laughed at someone telling me that they were getting this performance out of a "pellet gun" . I have been heavy into firearms my entire life but pcp's are a valuable tool and i'm glad that I have been introduced to them, they are very economical after the initial investment and I am looking forward to putting many a squirrel and rabbit in the kitchen this fall!

So here it is the Air Ranger and omega super charger and 100 tank! Also purchased a Marauder pistol for my son that I plan on doing some upgrades to later. The Ranger is a large rifle but accurate, quiet and powerful not to mention it has given me no problems. I routinely top it off on Sunday and may not shoot until the following weekend with no drop in pressure and I have had no mechanical issues, I would buy it again!

I just had to post these pictures, this is why I like the Daystate Ranger in .25, yes overall size and weight are drawbacks to some but these groups were shot from 40 yards using a lazer range finder and the target stickers were put on a piece of 2x6 pine and as you can see even at 40 yards you get complete penetration/pass thru and still holding tight groups as the second group opening up was operator error on my part again my Daystate doesn't have a bipod I was resting on a lawn chair backwards using the back for a steady rest. The three pellets were picked up off the ground, they made a dent in the second piece of lumber and hit the ground the other three lodged in the second piece but were visible. I love the energy generated by this rifle!

Forgot to mention pellets were 33.95 gr. JSB'S and appear to have retained all or nearly all their weight! Velocity about 870 fps.

You sure that's not Western Cedar? Lot softer than Pine. Even so, pass through on 1 1/2 inches of wood is pretty impressive. Are you shooting over 1000 fps?

Just an out of the box Air Ranger with that heavy pellet I'm peaked at 876 f.p.s. and when I shot these groups I was in that sweet spot for max velocity. I have a suppressed m&p .22 that I'm sure doesn't perform this well accuracy wise and I believe the Daystate is quieter. The 22 may have just a slight advantage in energy but not enough to warrant the hassle with the BATFE., I think it's hilarious how heavily they regulate suppressed firearms when anyone can buy a pcp and get the same performance delivered to their door with no tax stamp or background check.

That's how I feel about my AirWolf. Going on 5 years now, accurate, smooth, trouble free and extreamly quiet [thannks to my Neil Clague LCD].

Get yourself a Talon Tunes carbon fiber tank and put it on your Air Ranger. I put one on mine and it is such an improvement you won't believe it. It takes nearly two pounds off of the gun and it balances so much better. Do a YouTube search on the proper way to do it and I promise you, you will not regret it. And as a plus, it looks more proportional.

Forgot to ask if the bottle is the same volume as the factory bottle and or does it deliver the same shot count per fill?

It's 480 cc, my gun is in .22 set at 30 ft lbs and I get 60 shots from 2700 down to 2100. I really didn't lose much, certainly not enough to worry about.
