Daystate Delta Wolf...?

I just wish it would have"the ultimate biathlon action", like my Anschutz 1827F has, - pull with your pointing finger, which snaps the action open with just the right amount of momentum, the bolt comes to it's stop lightning fast, then push the back of the bolt on the lowered thumb pad with your thumb, which happens nearly as quickly. Way quicker and easier to execute, and almost effortless, compared to my Royale or Impact.

Just look up biathlon matches on youtube to see how fast these Anschutz 1827F's are, to see what I mean.

Turns out that the Steyr ProX can't be imported to the USA anymore so I'll be looking at other semiauto rifle alternatives for a summer purchase.

This would indeed be very nice, the 1727/1827 has a super slick action. Downside with airguns is that you might need to drag the hammer against the hammer spring force which would make this type of action way too heavy. However, with an electrified hammer (what daystate currently uses) this might work :)

I guess this makes sense. You can’t use the bottle/tube as the plenum because it’s at the front of the gun. To have a true bullpup you need a plenum at the back at the transfer port. 
The solenoid might run vertically and be situated right at the transfer port.
Externally adjustable huma reg and the ability to tune the hammer/ dwell with the electronics. Possibly still with the pressure sensor which corrects the hammer/solenoid to within 1/4 of a bar.
No issue ever with reg creep.

I’m cautiously optimistic. I loved my Pulsar HP but it was long, heavy, uncomfortable, and ugly as sin. I loved how the electronics made changing pellet types so easy.

I hope Daystate can bring a good competitive alternative to the impact because competition is good for everyone. My wish list is shorter, better side lever placement, higher shot count, lighter, and external charging like the red wolf. 

Bonus points if they can increase their product availability and service levels. FX has been expanding its dealer network and USA service center and it would be nice to see Daystate follow suit.

I'm also optimistically waiting to learn more details. Although not a great fan of Impact looking guns, I can hope that even if I didn't like the looks, the technology would transition to nicer looking Daystate guns. They are arguably after all the best looking PCP airguns. 

As far as availability, I have no problem with AOA being the only distributor and service center (technically they are not). Never had a delay and from experience I can claim that unlike FX, Daystate has always been available through AOA as soon as they release and promise availability.

@babakthn There are indeed choices/options for dealer/service. If I got another Daystate, I would consider dealing with K. Hicks. Good reputation for tuning & personal service (However I have no personal experience with SPAW). Also geographically closer to me, I can technically drive there in 5-6hrs. 

@emu The Delta Will be expensive, no doubt, but I really don’t think it will be that much. If I was a gambling man, & I’m not, I’d bet somewhere near the $3K mark. Performance is speculative at best.

The gun will combine a mechanical regulator & an electronic board that could be very efficient. I am certainly not a fanboy, but I think that Daystate can be proud of the whole lineup. Always innovating, and pushing the envelope in their chosen path. Not just that, many of their guns are very nice looking to boot. So I would say that it will be up to the individual consumer to make that call. 

If what I think is gonna happen here is right, the Delta will be setting the bar pretty high as long as it delivers what is promising. The idea, as far as I understand it, is to be able to change calibers, easily, and Keep the same POI with just the push of a “button”.

I have been mulling things over and over as I have been waiting on the Impact 35 to come out. After further reading and thinking about the Daystate Delta Wolf, I think I am going to stay with what I know and has been proven. Don't get me wrong, Daystate makes some incredible guns, but to me it is easier to troubleshoot a mechanical failure than it is to try to discern electronic as well.

Ernest, Edosan and Ken have all produced amazing results with their Impacts and I think I will stay on that boat.

@sgtBunny I know what you mean. I was thinking the same way and when it comes to comparing Daystate rifles to FX offerings, Daystate tends to cost a premium over FX.When I bought my Red Wolf, I fell in love with the simplicity and consistency of it. I did have a streamline at the time as well. I sold it because it was not being used anymore. Also the fit and finish on Daystate rifles is always one or two steps above what FX offers. Another downside to FX is that they keep updating and falling behind deliveries by sometimes a year. So bottomline, I think you will not regret giving the electronic gun a try. 

@intenseaty22 I agree with you. I only had a chance to speak to Ken once on the phone. Certainly very knowledgable and helpful. As far as distance, the same case is with AOA for me. Although, I have not had the chance to go there in person which I'd love to; it is only 5-6 hours drive. The other advantage to AOA is that when it comes to Daystate in particular, they always have multiple in stock (Rifles and Parts). 

I am very interested to know if the Pulsar or Huntsman are going to be upgraded. In case of Huntsman Regal, perhaps side lever and increased air capacity??? As for the Pulsar, Slug compatibility or perhaps better efficiency?

Yup, definitely would be nice to pop into AoA and have your pick of the litter. 

I have no ideas what they will do with the Pulsar. Anyone’s guess, could be replaced by Delta, or kept in lineup, who knows. 

As for the Huntsman Regal, I think they may offer the Side Lever as an option, meaning that they will produce both bolt and lever, with lever costing a bit more. 

Will just have to wait for IWA. 😀

The Delta Wolf should be competitive in price, the initial development I'm sure was at a high cost for this one. One of the benefits of manufacturing is less mechanical parts, the electronics I believe keeps the cost down. Fairly sure the Pulsar and Renegade may be discontinued as I think they both were something of a building block. Both great guns but not on the top of best selling guns for Daystate. The Delta Wolf will be a very exciting gun and am happy for the innovation this gun will bring.

AoA lowered prices on the Pulsar & Renegade a little before Shot Show already. I’m definitely looking forward to the Delta & see all the details.

I’d suspect they would be phased out if the new delta wolf is a bullpup design. I doubt they want to have multiple different electronic bullpups in their lineup.

If this comes in under $3000 it’ll be a winner. I wonder how much of the red wolf’s high price went into the beautiful stock and updated electronics - assuming the delta is an aluminum or synthetic stock it could bring the cost down (I hope)
