My quest here is to learn more about the settings and programming the Red Wolf for target shooting.
First I'm mostly a target shooter and love it, something about the accuracy. I have 2 Red Wolfs and 2 FX Impacts. RW in .177 and .22 with Impacts .25 and .30. I really love the way the RW's feel and work. My .177 shoots so incredibly well out to 50 yds its amazing it will average 5 shot groups in the .4 to .6 MOA all day everyday. I bought the RW .22 in hopes of it becoming my go to for the 100 yd contest which my .30 cal Impact currently holds. The Impact can when on tune hold .7 MOA at 100 yds no problem and I was hoping that I could get the RW close and use it for competitions. I have many setting that get me .9 MOA but nothing inside that.
So far after trying many different settings I'm looking for advise and hoping to learn some more about what settings do what in the RW programming.
I change the micro seconds on the programmer much in the way a number of videos have pointed out. 2550, 1975, 1725 as an example. I think this means how long the valves stay open at the different pressures in the bottle.
I change the bits 925,760,500 bits, I think this has to do with the pressures in the bottle and trying to keep the valves opening the right amount for the volume of air that will travel through the valves.
I change the voltage 850 bits This seems to be the easiest way to change the FPS of the pellets even though all the above has the same affect even if it is less.
I would like to learn what these settings mean in terms of pressure in the bottle. What settings mean in terms of an FX regulator setting. What it take to push the right amount of air to achieve a desired FPS and not any more air to disturb the pellet leaving the barrel. What is the right way to achieve the lowest Standard Deviation in FPS shot to shot. Are there mods to make to the barrel, valves or anything else that will move me in the right direction.
I'm sure there is more questions but let the learning begin!
Thanks for the help, Glenn
