Have you inspected the pellet probes for the damage which is being discussed? Is there no damage, or is there damage but it doesn't affect the accuracy?

Hi all!
This is my first post in this forum.
I have recently purchased Daystate products with this type of magazine,
which prevents double loading.
I have not used an RW and a Wolverine R.
After reading this topic, I went to observe the probes,
and found that they already have marks due to the magazines.
I'm really surprised that this happens, with a first-line manufacturer.
I have also checked my Airwolf, and it does not present any mark on its probe.
This is my first post in this forum.

Just an educated guess on the side as to why an apparent flaw was missed mate. Not really the driving point overall in any case

Couldn't say why you aren't having any issues - could be the batch your mags come from or something else. Either way the fact that yours are perfect is essentially luck of the draw. Just a matter of whether you agree on the odds.
All I can say is this seems to be the issue with my guns incredibly (ie completely useless) poor performance with the mag, while being a laser single shot. I had previously tested exhaustively for alignment and pellet damage issues, none of which turned up anything. There is definite, significant improvement at short range and we'll see at 50+ when I get a chance

The question is, have you been using mags all along, or tray loaded for the most part and just recently trying the mags?
I've only been using the tray loaded with my RW, for 2000 rounds or so. Of course, no damage to the probe.

Just as an aside, it seems I've had the polar opposite experience to you in both guns
my crown has the same (very good) accuracy with the mag or single shot. I did have some major issues with the crown at first though, but those issues were the gun itself and a replacement and a lot of stress later my current one is finally very good.These things can clearly be greatly affected by very small issues in tolerances and design. I agree with your point above that Hawkeye had no guarantee of a functional mag or gun with if buying the impact - just the nature of the beast I guess

I agree you can have problems with any gun from any manufacturer. I accept the fact that accuracy is most always better single shot loading as opposed to using the magazine. What I don't accept from any manufacturer is a defect that actually causes damage to the rifle.

If I am "plinking" lets call it then I use the mag, for "serious" shooting I use the single shot tray, not only does it "focus" my approach to the shot, but I derive more pleasure knowing I have to make it count.
For me the RW is a benchrest or HFT, or FT rifle in a beautiful dress! it shoots on par with my Steyr or Anschutz 9015, but adds flair that the others just don't have!
I personally think that the other European manufacturers have a tough time ahead when the RW starts to really shine on the competitive shooting scene!

Due to length and weight, the RW .22 High Power is definitely a bench rest gun for me, and hence I use the single shot tray.
For shooting "on the go", I much prefer a shorter, lighter, more nimble platform. At present, that would be the Bantam Sniper .22 for me.

I bought mine because of the accuracy I witnessed in long range “HIGH POWER” competition and one of the main attractions was it came with the Magazine!, actually the stock was the main consideration for not purchasing this rifle for me... THIS IS NOT A BENCHREST STOCK!, Beautiful!, but when u shoot in competition they get nicked up and scratched a little... unintentionally of course! Also this stock quite honestly sucks for shooting off a rest... IMO! But knew all this going in! So no one to blame but myself...

Hey Spray.. I'm so sorry to see that your sad "it makes me sad" but I paid full price for the hole gun and not half price for just "part" of it. As you are the only one I know of that dont have any probe damage and can shoot better groups with the mag than the single shot tray, (not even the Daystate Team can do that) you must have a fast line to the Daystate boys.. so tell us all.. when is the upgrade coming out?? So that we bottom line Red Wolf owners who cannot afford 5 can also benefit? Ya, and when I want to hit something at "25 yards" I useally just pick up a stone and throw it to death.. no need to waste pellets at 25 yards. Try 200 meters and then you can talk again so that I can laugh again.

Here is the word from Daystate according to the AOA in an email I received regarding the pellet probe damage on my Renegade. The 3 important points are:
That is a normal marking from the magazine actuator lever and has no effect on accuracy or function.
This is not covered under the factory warranty.
Daystate let us know they will not cover this issue from this point forward.

Called my reseller today as Daystate asked .. but not to talk about the mag problems but just to order some slugs, pellets and o-rings.. and ques what.. He, my reseller, which just happens to be a engineer is currently working with Daystate to design a new mag for Daystate. So I did not know this that if theres nothing wrong with a mag you should design another one just because emmm ...whell I dont know.. I really dont work at Daystate..

Well seeing this I will never support daystate/Brocock again if that's how there handling this. What good is a 5 year warranty if they won't fix this issue

So, Daystate is saying that it is normal for the pellet probe it be hammered and chipped off gradually with every shot if using the magazine? That is absurd... How can this not affect accuracy and consistency?
Well, not the end of the world I guess, can always treat these as single shot tray rifles, although the pellet probe chip marks would bother the hell out of me...
