DAYSTATE Redwolf Replacement battery on the cheap .. more "Cap" too !

The battery in the rifle is honestly no more than a $10 part. I have batteries for my Rc planes that are the same size but larger capacity and cost less. It would be really nice if the wires went back into the butt of the rifle instead of the grip. You could fit a much larger battery inside and not have to worry about the grip breaking.

Since we are talking batteries,
Does anyone know where i could get a little battery wire extension for my Alpha wolf? I have large hands and it's almost impossible to remove the little battery plug. I know better than to just pull on the wires.
That’s easy! Those connectors are called JST-XH. all Chinese R/C site has it… search “JST-XH 3S extension” and BANG!

So I have the below battery coming. Now I would like to know more about charging as I am pretty clueless. Can I use the stock DS charger to charge this or should I get a RDX1 mini? I have a current model DS RW which has the 11.1 v battery. I assume if I use the DS charger I just use the JST connector but then I am not really taking good care of the battery? Your help is greatly appreciated thanks

Best wishes on that battery... the length can be no longer than 105 mm and that will be tight. IF it fits, it's unlikely to be actually 2000 mAh. Highest cap I could find that would fit was 1100 mAh. I look for max size of 16 x 20 x 105 mm.
The high output wires will need to be trimmed close and insulated. This must be done with great care so not to short the wires in the process or on use. These batteries are capable of HUGE power output.
On the care, there are several threads on here that have contributions from very experienced people... google is your buddy here.

If I was to use this type of battery (the same as in my RC cars), I would use a balanced charger and leave the high power leads intact, if it will still fit in the Red Wolf. If not, I believe the standard DS charger will work.

Thanks @Arzrover luckily the battery fit it is 105mm+ but it was the 21mm width that made it snug fit. I could press it in with minimal pressure and the pull it out with the heavier connector. I saw no indications of rubbing on the sides of the battery, it is bit thinner. I may take the stock off and widen the opening, won’t take much at all.

@Martin3528 I did leave the leads on and purchased a charger. I wasn’t sure which way I was going to go until your comment, thanks.

Now I just need to find a premade wire set that will allow me to charge the Daystate OEM battery with the single JST XH connector With the new charger.

Cool that it fits...
I acknowledge that there are design tradeoffs that may allow for a little higher density but 800 and 2000 mAh being the same essential size is a bit comical to me. If your charger would also discharge, you could measure the ACTUAL capacity. Is it really important... probably not...
A real concern here is that these batteries swell a little under normal charge/discharge cycles. A tight fit COULD be an issue down the road.
Anyway... glad it fits. I've purchased 9 so far and didn't pay close attention to the dimensions or they lied so I have 3 that won't fit. They're not worth sending back... maybe I can find another use for them. Delta Wolf is very critical for fit... the Red Wolf is a bit more forgiving.

As original poster on these batteries ... and also a Racer of 1/8 scale R/C buggies using high discharge / charge Lipo's, They won't swell with use unless your abusing charge rates and discharge values of the cells rating.

Yes get an inexpensive Balance charger, your voltage stability & batteries service life will thank you ;)

Yep got the balanced charger, would like to find a pre wired set so I could use the new charger with the OEM battery.

More CAPACITY ... 2000 mah / 3s / 30c rating verses the factory 800 mah / 3s / 20c ;)

I lost 1 cell in my factory battery & needed a replacement .... No where could I find a replacement battery that ONLY came with a 4 pin balanced charging plug and NO primary power connector that's typically used in LiPo  So I tried a couple 3S batteries used in my R/C racing buggy and sure enough using the balance connector on them connected to the rifle it powered right up and worked like it should.

Well then ... lets search for a similar sized 3s battery with the smallest / shortest Power lead ? FOUND ONE with a mini power lead and connector.
See: https://www.ebay.com/itm/384845724554

For less than $20 to my door was worth a gamble ... SCORE !!! The battery fits, powers up rifle via balance lead & Mini connector stows away w/o issue.

The Factory Daystate battery ( From AOA ) is $50 plus postage I'll assume. This one is 2 1/2 times the capacity !! and 1/2 again greater current output ( amp draw ) for less than $20 My Heliboard equipped wolf is now rockin it .... Refresh has never been so quick. Seeing about 2 seconds+ there about.

NOW BE AWARE .... My Redwolf is a Standard, tho has the 11.1 Volt battery ... if you have an HP ? and battery it uses is similar and connects via the 4 pin balance lead for primary connection you should be good to go.

THIS IS JUST AN FYI on what I found out and upgraded too .... Your ability to do the same is Your Responsibility to determine.
Thanks for sharing your information got my battery ordered for $17.95 eBay yay me
