Daystate Daystate revere. To reg or not to reg.

Finally about to pull the trigger on my revere, and I'm torn between going reg or not. Price is a little bit of a factor, but I don't want to be stuck with 177 going unregulated. I don't shoot 177 anymore and have no plans to go back.

Also, does anyone have a revere in 25 cal? If they're as accurate as the 22s seem to be, I may go that route since it will be a stalking/hunting gun.

Too bad they don't offer an unregulated revere with foster fitting.

Skip the reg. You can always add a huma later for less than the $200 up charge. Plus it gets about the same amount of shots just higher up in the working pressure. You get a fill probe vs a quick disconnect on the non regged. Get .22 you will be greatly reduced in shot count and power of the .25.

If the power is worth it, I will go 25. I don't think they do over 45 fpe though, which is kind of low for a modern 25 pcp.

The shroud is barely bigger than the barrel. Think a fat oring at the muzzle keeps it centered. It is so close to the airtube that there is a recess in the shroud that matches up with the airtube. A short mod is all it really needs. 3" x 30mm really tames the bark and doesn't add much to the length.

Your goals seem to be a little confusing. What is your use, how much power do you need, and how important is shot count? You mentioned that 45 fpe is kind of low. Too low for what? My gut feeling is, any version of .22 or .25 should suit your needs. I'd get a regulated rifle for resale value and marketability.
The goal is to own a daystate Huntsman revere lol. Just weighing options. If the 25 had 50 fpe for say 30 shots, I'd buy it. It's only 38 fpe in 25 cal.

I would prefer the unregulated model in 22, but they don't have any in stock at AoA.

If that one in the classifieds is still up for sale when this insurance check clears for my totaled backup car, I'll probably just buy that.

So, how much power do you need? Chances are, if 38 fpe isn't enough, neither is 50. I have a Revere in .22, great rifle, you'll like it.

My advice would be buy the 22Cal, reg or no reg I dont think is really important for a quality rifle like a Revere. Granted I dont own one but I have several Gamo pcps that have really flat shot curves with no reg, and I know the Revere is similar (or better). In 22 and 177 all my Gamo's are 12-15fps extreme spread under the curve; and when you consider the speeds of 800-1020fps thats a drop in the bucket. For hunting with low/medium power rifles I opt for speed over a few more fpe. Many of the modern hunting ammos do much much better on game the faster they are going. Even though the Revere doesnt put out a ton of fpe, you can do well if you know your responsible-limits.

Love my regulated .22cal Revere!!! I tuned my .22 for 50 solid regulated shots, but I lowered the reg pressure and hammer tension.
