Daystate T3 110 compressor

I ordered a new compressor, this model. I was told all units now are 4 piston and 4 stage, like the video. My manual has pics and breakdown of a 4 piston unit, but mine is not. This unit is only a 3 piston, 3 stage unit? Looking at it with motor on the rt and pump on left, I have pistons at 12, 6, and 9 o'clock. The 3 o'clock side of pump is flat. Am I missing something?

AOA. I was promised it was the newer 4 stage unit. It is definitely not. I watched steves video, he has piston, cylinder, and cooling head in the 3 o'clock position of pump between the pump and engine . Mine is flat , no piston or cooling fins. I will call AoA tomorrow, sure it was a mistake and this older leftover unit you spoke about.

Think is really matters?

@whitetail17 - I bought my LC110 the last week of March and was told it was the latest and greatest model (3 stage as advertised)... then Steve's video came out and the 4 stage was named as the latest. I was confused, so, called AoA.

From what I gathered, they have 3 & 4 stage compressors. Performance wise, the 4 stage showed no improvement over the 3 stage (what I was told by the guys at AoA). One good thing about the 3 stage, it doesn't spew goo on the base like Steve's test model did. It's a great compressor!

With that said, if I were you, I'd give them a call...If you paid more for a 4 stage, then that's what you should've received.

Good guys at AoA... should be no problem straightening things out.

I do not have one, just read about them.
So, seems from reading here the "4th" stage is the TINY "piston" at bottom.
Again just from reading, YES it makes a difference ( they wouldn't have retooled otherwise right ?) in longevity by having such a tiny piston for the final push making it easier on the unit just like our hand pumps.

It would be nice to see side by side real world pictures for those of us who may buy on the used market.

Keep us posted and please give a full review after you get some time on your new machine.

Whitetail, any update on the situation?

I'm considering pulling the trigger on this model. The only 110v model I see listed on AoA website is the 3 stage listed at $1999. Three stage doesn't really bother me but it seems if they are rolling out 4-stage, then the price on the remaining 3-stage should drop lower. If not, then perhaps I should just spring for 4-stage but I'd like to be sure that's what I'd receive. Were you able to get satisfaction from AoA regarding your order?
