daystate type 2 compressor !!!!

I'm not sure if the type II has shipped to US. Anyone know? AOA still list the prior version. However, the compressor is a relabeled Coltri made in in Italy, and is the same in both versions, but type II gets an auto cutoff. Given that the value of the pound has plummeted versus the US dollar, one might hope for a big price break, but because Daystate buys from Coltri in Italy, and because the pound has also lost value against the Euro, maybe price remains same (or goes up?).

Searches of prior posts here will show you that the Daystate/Coltri has been discussed before, and that its a high quality product well suited for filling guns and SCBA tanks. Its major advantage over the Airetex 45 is that its much lighter, which may be important if you need to move it around. By contrast, although the Airetex weighs a "ton", its built like a tank and is rated for filling cascade systems (which I think the Daystate/Coltri is not); that's probably not important for most people, unless they are buying for a club and planning to fill lots of bottles over long runs of the compressor. Price is similar, but Daystate/Coltri has free shipping, which I imagine will be significant for the Airetex given its weight.

I watched the (amusing) video on the type 2. I don't know if there is any difference other than the auto shutoff. I am still torn between a Bauer Jr.and the Airetex 45. The Airetex is more similar to the Bauer Oceanus than the Jr. Since it will be middle of next year or later before I can get either, I still have plenty of time to weigh pros and cons. Either should easily last me the rest of my life, even if I start filling my friends bottles too.
