Is a daystate wolverine R more quiet than a hw100? I could buy either of these rifles as they're at the shop near my house but don't know which is more quiet. I need it to be as quiet as possible. Which of these is the quietest? And which moderator if they need one

But speaking from experience it's really hard to beat a HW100 for quiet! There factory moderators are the best in the business!
My .22 is mouse fart quiet and as accurate as any PCP going!

I have or have owned both. Nothing is going to be more quiet than the HW100. Having said that, the Wolverine R is certainly not loud or offensive. I would consider it to be backyard friendly, too.

Put a Huggett Astille moderator on that Wolverine and it too will be mouse fart quiet as well.

I've owned both, and the HW100 is quieter. Plus, it's much more tunable than the Daystate, and a better trigger. If you get the laminated stock version, then you get an adjustable comb, which I find very desirable.

Both of my HW100s (.177 and .22) are the quietest rifles I own. I replaced the felt with cork from Hobby Lobby and made both 8 to 10 DB quieter. You can barely hear the .177 and neither can the tree rats, LOL.

The downside of the HW100 is the refilling probe (versus the far superior Foster fitting on the Wolverine) and that the Wolverine has a much larger 480cc tank and thus higher shot count. Personally I think the Daystate Wolverine is the better gun worth it's higher price.
If you still like the HW100 then please also look at the Daystate Huntsman. It is such a good gun it doesn't need a regulator (both options are available) and it unfortunately also has the dreaded fill probe.

My .22 Daystate Airwolf is silent with the Huggett shroud and moderator. I've never shot a HW100, but I want one.

HW100 with stock moderator in .177 tuned for just under 20 fpe is absolutely the most quiet airgun rifle I've owned or shot. This includes marauder, daystate huntsman, brocock sniper w/sumo amongst others.

I have 3 HW100's a .20 cal thumb hole long barrel, a .22 cal thumb hole long barrel and a .22 cal bullpup long barrel, all are super quiet, plus the 14 shot magazine is the best magazine made, you can also increase shot count by swapping out the cylinder to a Ratworks cylinder or get a Bottle adapter, the trigger is Awesome and accuracy is pinpoint, the side lever action is smooth as silk, they also like Croman Dome or HP pellets, and you can 3D print magazines from open source, Parts Available from D&L airguns in Canada, they ship to US fast.
the Daystate is a great gun too from what I hear, I don't own one, not sure who handles parts in North America.
