How do yod deal with this issue. I just had to use my vice to open a JSB .25 tin (had magazines in it)?

Dealing with stuck pellet tin lids

There are 12 or 13 nibs on the top of the tin. I take a hex wrench, scrap piece of material and small hammer and flatten all but 1 or 2 out.

I'm careful not to over tighten the lid and not to cross thread it.
In addition, I use the palm of my hands and not my fingers to open. Some of those tins are so cheaply thin. LOL

I don't have a solution for these hard to open tins. I've dumped a couple when they suddenly decide to pop open. Very aggravating!! I've been saving any/all screw lid tins and I empty the press on lid tins into the screw lid tins as I go thru pellets. All the old press on lid tins are in a bag.... not sure what I'm saving them for. I've used some as targets but not any more, I've got plenty of targets in my backyard range.
Was considering trying some dry lube but as @Mike_Lenardon said, maybe I'll look into flattening some nibs!!

I squeeze them down tighter. To the point of swaging the lid over the ridge. Then twist them off.
The darn JSB tins are a PIA. If the lids aren't stuck they slip off when you pick up the tin. I pour them into the screw on tins. I rub some candle wax on the threads to keep those from binding.

Tin snips. Cut that bad boy open, retrieve your magazines, and empty the contents into an empty tin that doesn’t close so tightly. Don’t forget to label the new tin in the event that it’s a different weight or brand of pellets or slugs.
