Decals, paint, stamps and wraps

Hello all,

I have several airguns mostly all of them being dull black, I would like to add a little bit of life on there. Never done this before. Just checked gun wraps on Amazon lately THEY'RE EXPENSIVE !
How do you guys add colors to your rifles ?
What is the most inexpensive way you have found to do so ?
What sticks best on plastic ? and on metal ?
What is the most durable material to do so ?
Is this a good idea to use car wrapping material for an air gun ?
Are there downloadable templates somewhere that you can use to cut the right forms for the many types of airguns ?

Any success or failures to share would be of great help.

Few ways to do it. Ribbon tied on. Athletic tape. A sock over the stockget creative. Here's a few tries/examples in 1 pic lol

I used a car wrap material on a barrel shroud to make it match the stock of a Crown once. It worked and looked great (at least to me).
All that I took to the wrapping dude was an electronic picture of a section of the rifle stock that I wanted to use. They matched the colors and stretched it out to match the barrel shroud.

Made some research on my own.
The only reason they don't recommend car wraps for guns is because of the heat and moving parts but it's not a problem with airguns.
I will probably do that then.

Application may be a little bit tricky around parts that arent evenly flat but they say with patience and a heat gun you will be able to make that fit around almost everything. And if you buy good quality it can also be removed with ease without having to deal with residues of glue.
3M say you can stretch it 200% before it breaks.
They sell good sized sections with interesting colors for cheap on amazon.

What I would like tho is to find templates to cut the pieces perfectly before application (lets say I wanted to change my Barra 400e looks) an AR-15 template would fit just about right. This one will probably be very easy to find.

I had mine powder coated (not on the moving or tight tolerance parts) and it has held up well
