Eleven brave souls decided to thumb their noses at Mother Nature and have some air gun fun on Saturday, December 17th. Weather was chilly with a gusty little north wind.
The course was 60 shots set to a Troyer Rating of 31.18, with the focus being on tough short and medium targets. I tried to throw a curveball and put one of the kneeling targets on an elevated pole, but according to the results, this was more of a change up than a curveball. Stan didn't struggle with this target while shooting the kneeling lane from the standing position, and Art and I even managed to clean the kneeling lane. Jeff and I will head back to the evil laboratory and see what we can come up with for next month.
Thanks to our road warriors for making the trip, I think Stan travelled the farthest (from Arkansas). And thanks to Jim Martin for bringing his grandson out for his first match. Layton shot a very salty score for his first time! I'm sure we'll be seeing more of him.
Interesting side note: All three Jims shot a 37. One struggled with positional shots, one struggled with close shots, and one just shot a 37. All this amazing analysis and more at https://airgunshoot.com/
Thanks from the temporarily promoted and recently demoted match director, Scott.
Here are the results:
Art and Paul supervising Jim C
Stan ranging the kneeling lane (which he shot standing)
The nasty kneeling lane (which wasn't actually that nasty)
Ogg and Jerry cussing about the kneeling lane
Jim B shooting during a rare moment when Pablo's mouth is closed
