I've been getting frustrated lately with some issues I've been having with some of my pcps so I decided to get out my 1961 vintage Sheridan Blue Streak. Holy crap!! I was shooting 13.73 JSBs and getting 5 shot groups at 20 yards that were 1 slightly ragged hole! At 10 yards 5 shots were 1 neat hole group that you would swear was a single shot. I can't get groups like that with my pcps! I was using a fairly inexpensive red dot sight and shooting from a bench. I have several old Blue Streaks from 1960 to 1977 and the accuracy of them never ceases to amaze me. Those old Sheridans are examples of quality craftsmanship from a time when such things mattered.

I had a 64 blue streak for a while. Nice gun. 1 of the things that made it stand out was the better wood grain than many of today's offerings.

I recently discovered the same. Now, I have all three calibers .177-top, .20-middle, .22-bottom. Every one is incredibly accurate. Easy to pump and I enjoy shooting them more than my Springers. All have original iron sights, Williams peep sights and a 2.5 power extended eye relief scope. Simple removal of the scope, leaving the Buck Mount on, and your back to the irons.

With the latest acquisition of Crosman by Daisy, I would not be surprised to see the end of the 392S/397S. The beautiful nickel plated and Walnut stocks along with 5mm (20 caliber) were discontinued years ago. All these have become very popular again and prices reflect it. Still bargains can be found.

That would be mistake imo...I love my 392pa. Have considered many times picking up a 397. Even though mine does not have anything special for wood. It's reliable, easy to work on, accurate and will shoot most pellets with reasonable to excellent groups. Plus the variable pump option that will drop rabbits outside at reasonable distance, or less pumps to shoot mice indoors at the barn without major pass through damage.

I have 8-10 Sheridan's, a couple early '70's the rest are '64 and earlier. Great guns for sure!!

That's a beautiful set, and I love that you've embraced the "scout scope" concept - Not only does it work well with single-loaders, but it's very fast to take a shot.
