N/A Decocking pcp!!!

…. or I could just be use to condition one, cocked and locked.

To be clear it’s an opportunist pester not self defense.
Or you wake up to an intruder in your bedroom. Think you want to be fumbling with loading a mag, getting the safety off. All before he gets too you?

Sorry. You do you. (So to speak)
And I’ll remain prepared as I can be.

My guns don't come inside cocked and loaded. I may keep a magazine loaded, but not a gun. At times when I'm working in the yard, I may leave a PCP loaded and ready to shoot (safety engaged) should there be an opportunity for a shot on a pest. That could be for several hours. But at the end of the day, the gun is cleared and de-cocked for safety's sake if nothing else before getting locked in its case. When it comes out of the case again, I verify it is still unloaded and uncocked. It's how I was indoctrinated to treat firearms and similar tools. I am otherwise unconcerned about any loss of hammer spring performance if a gun is left cocked for a lengthy period of time.

My in-house weapon is, when 'out' and ready is always ready to go, when in the safe in a ready state, mag is in but no round in the chamber. I don't have small children and when I did, I removed the mystery of firearms by letting them handle it, pounding it in that it's dangerous, I even bought a air soft that looked like it and let them tear the daylights out of aluminum cans with it, they got the idea., of course there was range time with PB's and their own MSR's. I'm not sure I'd keep a loaded airgun around but that's me. YMMV
