2024 DeSoto Airgunners CloseOut Match
DeSoto Airgunners 2024 CloseOut Match included 10 shooters representing Hunter, Open, and WFTF divisions. Today's Field Target event included a lunch under the range pavilion; something instigated by Carl who brought us a crock of home-made chili. Others brought fixings like corn bread, muffins and butter cookies to round out this end of 2024 airgun season.
Thanks Chefs and Shooters!
Our 48 shot, 8 lane course included the usual off-hand and kneeling position lanes While these are frequently a nemesis to achieving a perfect score podium veteran Dennis cleaned the course today! His perfect score of 48 earned him Top Gun of the match. Nice Shooting. ( Dennis baked some awesome corn muffins too - Thanks).
Returning from their experiences at 2024 World Field Target Federation Championships Gary P and Ron G brought their 12 ft/lb international rigs to today's competition. Lindsey was our sole Piston competitor shooting a TX200 in Hunter Division.
Range conditions were comfortably cool during set-up with fairly light winds (5 mph) that steadily increased as the morning temps rose. We had 20+ MPH puffs by end of the match They felt comfortably cooling given the full Florida sun and clear blue sky conditions.
A Special Shout-Out to Carl who inspired the after-shoot lunch today. Match pics courtesy of Gary. PICS:
Thanks to everyone who pitched in to make 2024 a safe and pleasurable experience with DeSoto Airgunners.
Our next match is Jan 12, 2025. (see 2025 schedule here)
