Diana Diana 27 DRP 6/1940

I pulled out the Diana 27 DRP today for a little exercise. This one is in excellent condition and has a beautiful honey gold stock. It was mfg in 6-40. I would think this would have been some of the last air guns produced before the plant was retooled for German military weapons mfg for WW2. I put about a dozen shots through it then chrono’d it just to see how’s she’s performing. Using RWS Basic 7.0gr pellets I was getting 636fps. Not bad I suppose for a 83 year old spring and leather seal. I ended up shooting 25-30 pellets and gave her a good wipe down with Barricade and a few drops of silicon oil down the transfer port to lubricate and condition the seal until next time. One unique feature of this era of 27’s is that it can be half cocked for dry fire practice without compressing the spring. The build quality of these old D27’s is simply amazing and are just a blast to shoot.
