Diana Diana 34 ems woes

I received my new .177 Diana 34 ems wood stock in the mail today. My scope is still in the mail, so I put on a red dot so that I could start the break in. I got zeroed after a few shots. Then, after about 30 shots, I was no longer able to cock the rifle. There was the usual spring resistance when cocking, but it seems like nothing would grab it when it reached the end of the cocking cycle. It feels like the cocking shoe is not grabbing.

On other rifles, I had a similar experience when I had the trigger adjusted too lightly. I backed out the Diana screw a few turns, but nothing changed.

Can anyone diagnose the problem or have a solution?

I think I was oversold. Most reviews say it is similar to a Weihrauch, but I think it is a beast. That aside, it is the accuracy that I am searching for.

Mister Bill, I went through 3 of them with PA. I would return for a replacement if you can. Sorry, but I'm not a fan of the 34 EMS ... on paper liked it but not in reality. Good Luck and I hope you find a solution that puts a smile on.

I have a Diana model 34 from 1992. Going strong.

The trigger latch not trapping piston. Spring Bind from broken coils or adjustment of trigger if the gun wasn’t opened up

is there and popping at the end.

Remove action from stock and inspect the linkage on the piston and make sure the stock isn’t binding up the arm slider
pins. Be careful , only very skilled can cock a articulated arm out of the action. It can be done but you have to know how. Shine a light inside and look as deep towards the trigger at spring.

Somehow, I got it working again. The action was extremely stiff when I started. I tweaked it here and there, and it suddenly started cocking again. Thanks for your help.

I’d bet the wood rail has some roughness and will benefit from some smoothing and burnishing in lube. The arm rides on a dual flat inside it.

I cocks very easy for this power, Nice blueing ,Nice wood , like the trigger . But most important I can shoot 1 inch groups at 50 meters , time after time .

And when you adjust that trigger do it max 1/8 turn or you get to a point i does not Cock any more , and adjusting the first screw you need to adjust screw 2!!! Otherwise you get the same problem

For this price( Europe) you can not beat it , and yes i have and had HW's .

Thanks for the reply. The rifle is shooting great now. The stock screws are metric, not USA, and I had to get the right tools. I got the trigger weight adjusted to 1 pound and will stay with that. Next, I want to adjust screw #1 and #2 for stage one and two creep. I did not understand your comment. Did you say if I adjust #1 1/4 turn clockwise, I should adjust screw # 2 a 1/4 turn clockwise also, or do you work on one statg at a time?

What pellet does yours like?

it's a close call but the 10 gr jsb 4.52mm are outperforming the 8.4 gr 4.52 mm jsb's , but it is not a very big difference ( i shoot mostly indoors) ,

still need to test the JTS pellets with this rifle , but almost everywhere out of stock

had to locktite the bolts that keep the stock to the action

I have a Diana Classic 34 with the T06 trigger. It is a powerful air rifle. I was lucky to find it. It's a dream to shoot. You can see the accuracy below. That's a 1" 5-shot group at 60 yards

I'm not a fan of their EMS platform, I think is was a huge mistake to replace the 34 with the 34 ems.

I would return it for a replacement if it acts up again.

Agree, I gave my 34 ems away, couldn't bring myself to ask $$ for it.... still have a 34p and a 34 t06

I admit that in the meantime i had to locktite about every bolt that i could , but i woud like to see an other springer in this pricerange that does this ( Indoor 50meters, caldwel rest in the front and against my shoulder)
