Diana 34 questions

I bought this Diana 34 two years ago at a gun show. Put it away and have recently(like today) been looking at it again. And have some questions…
First anyway to tell how old it is?
Second it has two grooves on the end of the barrel. Anyone know if it may have had a barrel brake on it? And if so is there anyway to purchase another or maybe front sights? I’m wanting to redo it to what it originally looked like especially if it’s an older model, I’d still do it if it wasn’t though. If I can obviously.

That 01 94 is the production date so it was made in January of 1994. That front dovetail is for the front post for the iron sights.

Thanks a lot. Now do know how I could get the iron sights? I’m guessing a gunsmith or do you know if they sell them anywhere?

My guess is it is a globe style sight.
Check eBay regularly and you may find one.

Run some patches through that barrel. Slap a scope on it and shoot it !!

The foresight was made from folded steel with 2 dovetail angles on each side which slides into the dovetail grooves on the end of the barrel before being locked in place with a screw passing through both sides.
The 34 is a very fine air rifle sometimes a preferred choice to the HW offerings of the time.

Front sight should have been a tunnel with a pointed post. Looks very similar to a Weihrauch front sight, and I THINK a Weihrauch front would fit. Haven't had a chance to verify that yet. Steveoo is correct, great shooting gun. The absence of a butt pad is the only complaint I have about it. It will slip on slick clothing.

Man... If you cant find somthing rws/diana part this may be a get by wile you hunt one down . May beat having nothing if you need it to do some shooting

Front site should look similar to this one to give you a better idea what to look for. It's the one on my 02 02 D34.
TW Chambers lists one but currently out of stock.
