Diana Diana 48 .177 ft. lbs. of energy?

Hey Deadeye Dick,
How did your pellet testing go in your D48?
Did you find a pellet it likes?

I ended up getting that D52. She is old, but I absolutely love her.
I tried putting a scope on her and was struggeling to get it right, took the scope off just to do some plinking with the open sights and oh my gosh… old iron sights and I was knocking rabbits over at 30yards!
Decided I’m ever going to put a scope on that lovely rifle, I’ll shoot her with her iron sights all day long. So much fun!
She has apparently been tuned down a little to just under 12FPE in .177, but I don’t care at all, she shoots so beautifully exactly as she is 👌🏻

Hi, sorry to say I let the summer slip by without doing any testing. Life in general caught me off guard.
It's snowing as I write this so I may have to put this off again.
It'd good to hear your D52 is working well.

I bought a twelve year old Diana 48 that was new in the box. I was 20 plus ft lb. Put a hole through my trap and my neighbors fence.
I replaced it with a Vortex spring and it is under 20 now. It is much smoother but still has quiight a kick. I am thinking about the 12 ft lb spring to totally calamity down. I am a spring gun shooter and this thing can shoot. It’s just to powerful for paper.

I have had the 48, 52, and 54 all in 22 caliber. I didn't care for the stock on the 52 but the 48 was perfect. I found out also that apertures worked best for me on the 48 and that is the way I shot it. Absolute cannon. The 54 is something else. The sled system it uses keeps it recoiless and it works great with a scope, if you can find a scope that will hold up.
