Watched an agonizingly LONG video of mainspring and kit install without an explanation of the "dummy pins" used to keep the trigger mechanism together when mainspring is removed. You actually DO NOT NEED dummy pins but if you want to use them than read further.
Short answer: the dummy pins have to be shorter than the factory pins so they can hold the trigger group together AND still slide out of the receiver. If the dummy pins were the same length they would still be holding the mainspring in.
Factory pins = 1.54"
Dummy Pins I made = 1.15"
The safety should be in the "fire position' when inserting the dummy pins.
